“Tell him I wish not to come.” I shot. “Like I said, he ordered me to pick you up.” I flew from my seat, then walked over to him. “Like I said,” I began making more emphasis on the ‘I’. “I wish not to come.” “He did not ask for your consent. I am only doing what I was told to do.” Bruce got up, then walked over to us. “What is going on here?” The guard took a long stare at him, then back at me. “Do you want to do this the easy way or the hard way?” “You can’t just come to my house and start giving orders.” The man leaned in closer to me, then picked me up from the floor. I began to hit my elbows against his shoulders, creating an impact I thought would make him drop me, but it didn’t. “Let me go now.” Bruce ran over, then hit the man at the back, causing him to drop me. He pulled the man over to him by his suit jacket, then threw a heavy punch on his face. He pushed him to the ground, then began to rain blows on him. “Stop,” I yelled. “You are going to injure him.” Bruce didn’t stop, instead, he increased his impact. I ran over to Bruce pulling him from behind. Then he turned around fiercely to me. “He was trying to take you without your consent. Who is his stupid boss?” I looked over at the man who was trying to get up. I walked over to him, then pulled him up. “Are you okay? Are you alive? Should I get you an ice pack?” I said as I tried to pull him in. “What? Are you going to help him? You should let him bleed. That would send a message to his boss.” Bruce spat as his nostrils flared. His face contouring with rage. “He is just following orders. You should not have beaten him like that. What if he died?” “Can you hear what you are saying? He practically threatened you.” I turned over to the man, then let go of him as soon as he got on his feet. “Now, go and tell your so-called boss that I am not coming. If he wants me to come so bad, tell him to do the job himself and stop hiding behind you.” I gave him a glare, then walked back to my house. Bruce ran after me, then placed his hands on my shoulder. “Are you for real?” “What? What if you killed him?” Bruce’s face fell. “Look, I appreciate that you care about me. But you should not be getting into dangerous fights.” “Dangerous? Nothing is dangerous as long as it involves you,” My eyes widened at that statement. Bruce took a pause, then walked over slowly to me. He placed his hand on my shoulders, then let his hazel green eyes shine directly into mine. “What do you think? That I would let him handle you that way? I can’t stand it. I cherish you,” I continued to stare at him. “Look, I just want you to know that there is someone who loves you wholeheartedly right here.” He stared at me for a few seconds, grabbed his suit jacket, then left. I stood there, my mind wandering around so many corners, trying to understand everything. My phone began to ring, it was my mother. I picked up the phone, then began to rush over to her house. As I got closer to her house, my heart raced. A black Benz stopped in front of me, preventing me from walking further. The back door opened, and a familiar face stepped out. It was Damon. My face fell at the sight of his smirk, then tried to turn around. “Stop, I am not here to rub how helpless you are in your face.” I halted, then turned around. “Then why are you here? You have finally man up to come and get me yourself.” He chuckled, then started to walk closer to me. “Stop,” I yelled. “Do not come any further. Just stay where you are and talk.” He paused, then let out another chuckle. He shook his head slowly, then threw me a smirk. “You feisty b*itch,” he let out a sigh, then placed his hands in his grey suit pocket. “Have you seen the news?” He asked with that outfaced look. “Yes,” “Good, now we are on track. I just want to talk to you, that’s why I am here.” “Well, you are already talking, so just spill it out.” He let out another chuckle, then gave a wide smile exposing his almost perfect dentition. “We can’t talk here, you have to come with me.” “As you can see, I was going somewhere. Talk or forget about it.” His eyebrows rose, then his face turned cold. “Do you want the next headlines to be about how we couldn’t wait to get a room? I suggest we cooperate here as you are also involved.” “Like I said, I have somewhere to be.” “Very well then.” He looked over at his car, then back at me. The passenger door flung open, then one of his men came rushing down to me. “Come with me, don’t let me have to carry you.” “Leave me alone.” I yelled. “You know what? Let me handle this.” Damon said as he walked over to me. The man stepped aside, then Damon threw me a smirk. He lifted me from the ground, then started stomping over to his car. I hit my elbows on his shoulders, with my legs swinging in the air. He threw me in the car, pushed me to the side, then sat down adjusting his suit jacket. “This is k********g,” I yelled, hitting him on the back. “Not if I’m taking you to a secret fancy restaurant.” “What? I don’t want to be a part of this. You said you wanted to talk to me.” “I told you to come over to my office, you didn’t. So I suggested you wanted somewhere else. Relax, we are just going to talk business.”
