After a tearful farewell from everyone including his father, Jack went through the departures gate. He’d booked the first leg on Air Canada which was a nine-hour flight to Frankfurt. There was a layover after which he’d board a Lufthansa flight to Johannesburg. He found a room available in Pretoria on Mister B&B website. The travel itself was going to be a big adventure. He’d contemplated booking a rental car but decided he’d rather ease into the traffic patterns that were opposite to what he knew. Instead, he booked Uber to get him from O.R. Tambo airport to his room in Pretoria. With one carry-on bag and three checked luggage pieces, Jack was on his way.
