Torn in between the two

Today was a sunny day here in Fordlands which happens rarely, I have no idea why. Maybe it was because of how close Fordlands lies in between the West Coast and the East coast, Its just always overcast here ALL the time and it sucks. But this one sunny day means it is going to be a clear night sky for our event and I am super excited I'm a high school girl in a small country town in New Zealand. I've never thought too much about the big world that surrounded me, I just know that I want to do great things while I'm here in this world. I was always a girl that had her life plans mapped out, I knew exactly where I wanted to be and what I needed to do to pass that typical teenage rebellious stage so I can reach College and get my Degree. I didn't have time to waste on anything that would be a distraction and get in the way of my plans.  Until Tonight that is. It's our annual A and P show that features the Ferris wheel and KamaKaazi for the 4 nights of the week that we have the show in town and yes we didn't have a variety of rides because our town was small so we were happy with what we got.  Friday nights are the best nights. I always loved these nights growing up. I felt so free and unable to contain my excitement and being childlike, Like i have always been. "Sylvia"...I looked as i heard my name being called out, it was my best friend, Kayla. "Let's go on the Ferris wheel" "Yes let's do it," I said. So we made our way onto the carts and enjoyed our first ride of the night.  We had stopped at the very top, waiting for new riders to join our ride when I looked down and in the distance, that's when i saw him, standing there with his friends, enjoying the night lights and scenery around him.  They were the J.W kids, the ones that stuck together in their own pack, where no one else was ever invited. See we all knew them in town for being the rich, good looking, talented and sporty Jehovah Witness group, and they were always radiant as ever, like a group different to so many. There's 7 of them, Michael who is the schools best swimmer and in line for the next head boy position for his social skills and excellence in academics, He is very good-looking, tall tanned and a surfer boy so his body was ripped, I think he dates a J.W girl from the next town over, I only know this because all the girls have a crush on him and have heard that he's taken. Ross, whose Michaels side-kick. He's gorgeous too and very rich, His parents own most of the town and almost every store is named after his family name 'Masons'  Kyle and Lucy are the group couple that have been together since as long as I've known of them. You never see them apart. Mark and Renee are brother and sister, They have this persona of perfection, like anything they set out to do they seemed to excel at, Renee is known and talented with creating wearable art and often wins national awards and Mark is super talented at all sports. he's great at everything. And finally, there's  Zack, I don't know too much about him because he keeps to himself, He doesn't seem interested in winning awards and Titles like his friends, don't get me wrong he is talented at sports but one time I saw him working on his car when I was out on my daily run and any time that I've seen him at school, he always seems to like hanging out with our engineering teacher that likes to work on cars too. He didn't seem to like attention even though he got a lot of it from most of the girls at school. I hadn't seen him much in the past year, because his parents travelled a lot and would take their kids with them, so they missed school quite a lot. I'm guessing he was being homeschooled. He looked different as well, He'd gotten taller and his shoulders looked bigger like he'd been working out all year. His dark hair and blue eyes with that chiselled jawline just made him look even better. He looked irresistible. I don't think I was the only one that noticed either. Oblivious to him, there were prowling eyes all around him as he strolled passed with his group of friends, smiling and going about their own business. I noticed the girls paid extra attention to him and were saying hi as he walked passed them. I could see his kind replies while I was on the Ferris wheel. He's such a nice guy even when he doesn't want to be bothered it seems. And then I saw her!!! "Cheryl" the popular girl that every guy wants. She noticed him too and it didn't take her long to interrupt his stroll and go over to talk to him, she gave him a big hug as well, keeping him in a position where his arms stayed wrapped around her longer than they should be. I must admit my stomach churned from watching her flirt with him. She was one of those girls that could do that though.  But I also knew that they do not date outside of their religion, it was their one rule that they would not break no matter how gorgeous any of these girls or guys were. I guess i felt a bit better knowing that, but still she had that confidence to steal a hug from him which was better than nothing. I also noticed Renee's eyes turn dark with anger as she witnessed Cheryl all over Zack and I don't think she liked it at all. Dam! I think she likes him and if any girl has a chance with Zack it would be her. I decided in that moment that I wanted his full attention, I don't know how I was going to do it, or when, but I knew that I wasn't going to stop until he was mine and I was his.
