Chapter Twenty-two

I volunteer to watch for Captain Arkean throughout the night. I can tell that the pirates are tired. They've done a lot more things than I have. I only have a graze on my left arm, but they have so many injuries. I know they are also exhausted.

Captain Arkean is still in shock. His ship was hit by a cannonball ball. We haven't seen another ship behind the rocks near where we’ve stopped on our way here. It’s hidden, preparing for our arrival. We've only known that it was the one that cannoned the Arkean ship when we’ve heard the sound of the ship leaving and booming cheers.

It is still a question for us why they haven't attacked us as soon as we've arrived. What are they waiting for?
