UNDER THE MISTLETOE AGAIN

A DANCE WITH THE PAST

Emily's eyes scanned the crowded gym, searching for a familiar face. But everyone seemed to be paired up, and she was starting to feel like a fifth wheel.

Just as she was about to give up hope, Emily heard a voice behind her.

"Hey, Emily. Want to dance?"

Emily turned to see Jack standing behind her, a charming smile on his face. She felt a flutter in her chest as she nodded, and Jack took her hand, leading her onto the dance floor.

As they danced, Emily couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia. She and Jack had grown up together, and she had always felt comfortable around him. But as they moved to the music, Emily realized that her feelings for Jack went far beyond friendship.

Jack, too, seemed to be feeling the chemistry between them. As they danced, he pulled her closer, his eyes locked on hers. Emily felt a shiver run down her spine as she met his gaze, her heart pounding in her chest.

"I've missed you, Emily," Jack whispered in her ear, his breath sending shivers down her spine. "You look beautiful tonight."

Emily smiled, feeling a sense of happiness wash over her. "I've missed you too, Jack."

As the music changed, Jack leaned in closer, his face inches from Emily's. "Want to grab some hot chocolate with me after the dance?" he asked, his voice low and inviting.

Emily's heart skipped a beat as she nodded, feeling a sense of excitement and trepidation. What was she getting herself into?

As the night wore on, Emily and Jack danced together, lost in the magic of the Christmas party. They talked and laughed, reminiscing about old times and making new memories.

But as the evening drew to a close, Emily realized that she had to be careful. She couldn't let her feelings for Jack get out of control. Not again.

As they said their goodbyes, Jack leaned in close, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "I'll pick you up at 7 pm for hot chocolate," he whispered, his breath sending shivers down her spine.

Emily nodded, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation. What would the night bring?

As she watched Jack walk away, Emily couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder. Was this a second chance at love, or just a holiday fling?
