Farida ascended the staircase and arrived at the terrace atop Ocean Basket Restaurant. The party had already started, it appeared. A volley of greetings heralded her arrival, from Jon, Samira, Toke and even Laide.
“You guys are late!” Toke accused.
She shrugged, throwing him a contrite smile. The food on the tables drew her gaze. Chips, rice, salad served with prawns and fresh fish. Yum. And a cake. Shaped like a lion. OMG.
Her belly rumbled. She hadn’t had anything to eat since breakfast and for most of yesterday, during her wedding, she’d eaten almost nothing. She’d been too excited to eat.
