Chapter Forty-One Nigel turned into Rose Street behind the patrol cars. The street was deserted, which didn’t surprise him. It was, after all, five minutes to six on a Sunday morning when most people were still in their beds. He waited beside his car as the four arresting officers entered the driveway of number fifteen. Two of them, pistols drawn, disappeared around the back of the house. They had no idea if Weir was armed or not. Nigel hoped he wouldn’t do anything stupid. A loud banging shattered the early morning silence, as the officers at the front of the house thumped on the wooden door. ‘Police!
