Chapter Forty
Carl joined DI Henry and his team to discuss the latest developments in the Clarke case and to plan their next move.
‘What’s the latest on Slade?’ said Carl.
‘We think he’s gone north,’ said DI Henry. ‘There was no sign of him where his car was found down south. Best guess is the car was dumped down there. There was nothing in it.’
‘You thinking he flew home on one of those flights DS Fuller found out about?’
‘Would explain why no-one’s seen him down here,’ said DS Fuller. ‘And, it’s possible he’s been a frequent visitor up there despite what his father told us.’
‘It’s starting to make sense,’ said DI Henry, ‘now we know those flights are bringing crystal meth down to the city.’
