David Callinan welcomed Harry and Wayne into his office.
‘Now, what exactly do you want to know about the purchase of Clarke Finance?’
‘You told Mrs Clarke you were buying her business on behalf of a group of investors. Is that correct?’
‘Yes, I’m the managing agent,’ said David.
‘What’s in it for you?’ said Harry.
‘I charge a fee for managing their investment.’
‘Just like Doug Clarke did for his investors?’
‘We’ll continue to service his investors,’ said David. ‘That was one of the conditions Joanna insisted on.’
‘Fair enough,’ said Harry. ‘That makes sense to me. What I want to know is the names of the investors who funded the purchase?’
