Chapter Forty-Nine
On the Friday afternoon after the court appearance of Michael Riley and Stephen Carol, Carl called a meeting with DI Henry and his team.
When the team had assembled and settled, Carl stood in front of the whiteboard covered with photographs and notes outside his old office.
‘The Commissioner is moving the investigation into the network distributing the crystal meth manufactured by the Slades to the Drugs Taskforce. He asked me to pass on his congratulations for a job well done,’ said Carl. ‘I want DI Henry to focus on securing convictions for the murders of Doug Clarke and Gail Swan, and the attempted murder of Peter Thompson.’
