The forensics lab was located on Dundee's West Victoria Docks. Once the bustling home to the city's whaling fleet it had been in steady decline and underuse for decades until developers recently turned it into one of those up-market areas populated by hi-tech companies and high net worth individuals who, just twenty years ago, would never have dreamt of setting foot in this part of town.
Guthrie drove around the old harbour and found the nearest parking spot three buildings away from the lab. He backed the MG between a new Jaguar and a light grey AMG Mercedes. As he locked the door he wondered if the owner of the Jag would appear and offer to swap it for the MG. There was about as much chance of that as the forensics lab telling him the name and address of Gant's killers.
