The Shewolf Alpha

The BlueRiver pack was celebrating the alpha ceremony of future Alpha Caleb and the eighteen birthday of his little sister Elyon, they decided to do it together to have a bigger party, but also because this way they could invite neighbor packs. Wolves were very territorial and usually fought if someone crossed territory lines, at the largest part of the country they have only two packs in the same state and that made things tense at various points, so only allies were invited to this party.

Caleb was taking the pack after intensive training from his father and finding his mate, Nathasha, it was not necessary for an Alpha to take the pack at a particular moment, so he wanted to wait for his sister, once he became Alpha, Naty would take her role as Luna and would take from Elyon and her mother all the pack responsibilities. He was hoping that Elyon was able to find her mate at this party so she wouldn't be sad about this.

Naty, Elyon, and her mom were walking all over the pack waiting to receive their guests. A few meters from the huge river that gave them their name they were mounting a tent with almost 200 tables to fit all pack members and guests. The pack had a headcount of one hundred members so they were the largest pack in the area and more than a few attendees were wishing to find a Blueriver wolf as a mate so they could also join them.

In the last few decades, the werewolves had become less and less by the number, some of them would quit the pack to go live a normal life due to their mates and children being completely human. Not all wolves lived in the pack territory full time, but, the ones that did, had fewer chances to meet their fated mate so everyone was excited to have so many new faces coming to a party.

The current Luna was making sure everything was perfect, she insisted that they wore the colors of the pack, so, in different styles, they were a vision in blue and silver dresses that made them look like real royals. Caleb and his father, as Alphas, were receiving the other Alphas and their families and showing them around while talking about how they could help each other.

The party was fullying quickly, music and dinner follow the naming of Alpha Caleb and Luna Natasha, it was a short ceremony in order for guests to be able to mingle, the real Alpha taking was going to take place a few days after with all pack members changing into the wolf form and bowing to their new leaders.

Elyon was talking with some people at the end of the dance floor when a strong goosebump shook her completely, her wolf senses acute like they have never before and she twists 180º degrees to face a tall, huge man with his eyes locked in hers walking across the room to reach out to her. Her heartbeat really fast, he was good-looking and had dark thick lashes that framed his eyes, that intense look was making her feel her body full of electricity.

Joseph was already an Alpha, when his father became too weak to lead he challenged him for the position, his father would not give the place to him so he took his life and his place. He had slept with almost every female in the pack in order to have a son, but all his intents were in vain, so for the past few months he had been searching for his mate like a madman, and there she was, she saw him with huge wide eyes, she was pretty, that pleased him, but she was too small, too thin, too fragile… and that made him angry.

- Mine… - he growled low and took her arm a little too hard making all the people that were talking to her disappear

- Hi-i… - Elyon mumbled not sure how to act

- Name? Where is your family? - he asked roughly

- I am Elyon Hale…

With just that soft almost unvoiced response he started to walk still holding her arm pressing his fingers against her skin. He dragged her all the way to her family that was saying goodbyes to someone in a black van. Joseph stopped suddenly making Elyon bumped into his back making him growl which caused all of them to look at them.

- Alphas - he said coldly greeting just the two men - I am Alpha Joe from BloodMoon Pack. She is my mate, I will take her to my pack now - he pulled Elyon from behind him and pushed her to her family - Say goodbye, pack your things and let´s go.

Everyone stood cold as they saw him walking to the parking zone. Their mother took everyone inside and made them go to Elyon´s room so they could talk. Elyon and Natasha sat on the bed bench while the Alphas and Luna started making calls, trying to find out more about this “Joe”.

Elyon was in shock, every single day since his big brother found his mate, she was praying to find hers. She remembered that she was with him taking a run across the field when he stopped and took a deep inhale, he turned and ran back to the packhouse, she tried to keep up with him but it was impossible, he did not stop until he was in front of Natasha, they both smile widely and embrace each other before kissing, she could almost feel the electricity that surrounds them.

- Ely - the worried voice of Naty awoken her from her memories - what is this?

Everyone looked over and saw in the thin arm of Elyon huge bruises in the shape of fingers, rage built up inside Caleb, and without him knowing his teeth and hands started changing into wolf ones. He hurt his sister, he was going to pay for it.

- Stop - Elyon said standing up making everyone looked at her and go silent - he is a little harsh but he is my fated mate, the Moon Goddess has a plan, I am sure

She started to pack her bags, her mom and Naty joined her, and when she was done Caleb held her looking deep into her eyes. She was at the border of crying.

- Elyon, look at me, you do not need to go, you can reject him, you can stay here with your family, this is your home - Caleb cleaned a tear from her eyes and hugged her before she pushed him away

- This is my destiny - she said trying to sound sure and certain - I am going to be the Luna of the BloodMoon pack - that sentence made her feel brave, she was needed as a leader, she already knew how to do a job that was not for her, and now, she could do it - I need to go, please hug me and bless me

Her family did that, and each of them gave her a few encouraging words. They came down to the entrance to see a red car waiting. Joseph came down from the car and loaded her bags, before she entered the car she joked with Caleb “calm down, we are going to see each other again”.

Those were the last words they ever heard from her, the car drove away, Joseph didn't even say anything to them, Caleb held her mother who was crying uncontrollably. That last smile from her was all he had for the past 18 years.

*Present day*

Caleb is sitting next to the hospital bed, Elyon looks pale and a bag of blood is hanging from a rack trying to cure the anemia she suffered from the hemorrhage, he is carefully caressing her head, on the side she is not injured. Rage, all he can feel is rage and pain, the doctor told him all the places she had fractures, injuries, and other kinds of mistreatment.

His niece had the same kind of wounds, and the cherry on top of the cake was that they both came in torn and bleeding. He wanted to kill, to destroy, to avenge this perjury on the Hale clan. He was still connected to her sister by blood so, even though she was still in an induced coma, he could feel her broken heart.

- Alpha - a young man came into the room, Demian, his beta´s son - I came back with our Luna, she bought everything that you asked for.

- Good - he kissed his sister and stood up - place everything in the closed room - he said giving him a door key - Alice will need a room, tell your father to meet me with Alice and Nicole in my office.

Even if he wanted to murder Joseph, Caleb knew that he needed to put all cards for Alice on the table, it was her decision, not his.
