Chapter one
Charlie and Babe have been together for two months now. Nothing has changed in their relationship , they are still friends with benefits. Recently, Charlie had started noticing some changes in Babe. He has become more affectionate and likes to stick to him all the time. Of course, Charlie wants that, but aren't they just friends with benefits? So he decided to ask him one morning, Babe was literally squeezing the life out of him with how tightly he was hugging him. It took at least three minutes to loosen the grip.
"Babe?" the other just hummed without opening his eyes.
"Aren't you going to work today? It's 9 am."
"Don't want to," he moves even closer to Charlie. Strange Charlie thinks to himself as he allows himself to hold him.
"Are you okay Babe? Like do you feel weird or anything?" He finally opens his eyes and looks at Charle with a frown.
"Can you just say what you want to say? Stop beating around the bush."
"Okay. Well... I don't know if it's intentional or not, but you've changed."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean just look at this," he gestures at their current position. "You used to immediately leave after.....you…know, and now you always stick with me not that I mind but, can you please tell me what is on your mind." Well now he's fully awake. He immediately moves away from Charlie and stays silent. It's like he didn't even notice how much he's changed, his mind drifts away and Charlie notices the troubled look on his face and moves closer to hug him.
"It's okay, don't think too much about it." If it were before, Babe could have pushed him away, but right now he doesn't. Charlie decides to change the topic.
"By the way, why aren't you going to work? You never miss work."
"I just don't feel like going, I'm tired…" If Charlie wasn't worried enough, he definitely is now.
"Hospital?"
"I hate hospitals," he did not decline, so that's better. Charlie thinks
"Me too. So let's go together," he says, trying to see if Babe buys it. Another shock. Babe agrees. What is that sickness that can change one's behavior instantly?

"Babe," the doctor calls out, and that sends chills down Babe's spine. He doesn't know why, or maybe it's just too cold. So they go in.
"Babe?" the doctor calls to see which one of them is babe.
"Could you please describe how you're feeling?" The doctor starts typing on the computer. Babe looks at Charlie before looking back at the doctor. The other man is still not used to seeing Babe acting all soft and delicate. He only knows a cold and savage babe that won't think twice before clapping back at anything. The old babe wouldn't even be sitting in a hospital chair trying to explain to someone how he's feeling, but look, here he is answering every question asked while holding Charlie's hand.
"Just that, anything else?" the doctor asks.
"Yes, that's all."
"And you've told me you're an alpha, right?" Babe nods. "When did you present as an alpha?"
"I was like five years old, maybe. I don't quite remember was in an orphanage then."
"Okay," the doctor says.
"Is everything alright?" Charlie asks after noticing a frown on the doctor's face.
"Yeah, it's just a little strange..... May I know your relationship with the patient?" he suddenly asks.
"I guess you could say we are....friends." He looks at Babe to see if he reacts, but he doesn't "Friends" he emphasizes it.
"Okay then. I believe you are an alpha too, right?" Charlie nods. "So, after everyone presents, their names are usually put in the system indicating their second gender and can be accessed by every hospital in the country. But..... I can't find your name in the system."
"So that means....?" Charlie asks.
"We have to check and see what your second gender is?" the doctor answered. Babe tensed. What do you mean he did not present? For 18 years he knew he'd been an alpha. Not a single person doubted that. And what will happen if he's not alpha? He looks at Charlie to see if he can read what the other is thinking. Well he's also speechless.
"Okay then," Babe agrees to do the test. The doctor immediately makes a call and sends Babe to the laboratory.
Charlie is sitting in the waiting lounge, head in hands. He can't stop the questions that are swimming in his head right now. He's getting flashbacks. What if he......? No. He immediately stands to stop his thoughts. But they can't be stopped.
He has a scent that comes and goes,
He only likes my scent,
He...doesn't top,
He hates other alphas...,
Charlie is lost in thought when he feels someone hold his shoulder. He immediately jumps.
"Oh Babe, you're back," the latter nods and sits down.
"So how did it go?"
"They took my blood samples and told me to wait for ten minutes." Babe looks so pale and anyone can see that. He is shaking.
As someone who is tough on the outside but soft on the inside, no one can know what the person is thinking or if the person is having a hard time coping with something. All Charlie knew when he met Babe was that he was adopted but then abandoned later because he didn't want to do what his adoptive dad chose for him to do. He became independent and started racing as a way to forget all that. He is also considered a special alpha because he has alert senses like sight, taste and smell, So with all that, he needed something to help him cool down — bring down the heat — so that's why he met with different alphas right before a race to help bring the concentration back. But after spending some time with Charlie, he started letting his guard down. Allowing Charlie to read him and know him better.
The doctor calls them in ten minutes.
"So the results are back ... .and it's like I expected." Charlie's heart is literally beating out of control for some reason. If his guesses are right, then...
"The result says you are an omega."
"What...how is...but...?" Babe tries to speak.
"How is that possible? Well, you're a dominant omega, which is rare.you see, dominant omegas are not like normal omegas. A dominant omega has full control over their scents, so sometimes they are mistaken as betas because they hide their scents. They can also have the body of a beta," the doctor explains, but that does not stop the confusion the two have on their faces. So all this time babe has been living a lie? Living like an alpha and no one caught anything? But then again, with his body, no one could have guessed he'd be an omega, and with his scent, well, it's irregular.
"But I have no scent," Babe says.
"I think....." the doctor begins, but Charlie interrupts, "You actually do. It's just that it comes and goes."
"That's because you still don't know how to control it. May I ask, At what occasion does he release the scent?" The doctor and Babe look at Charlie.
"Uh...well, you know when we...." he gestures with his hands. The doctor immediately catches that and continues typing something on the computer.
"To control your pheromones, you need to know how to let them out first."
"So.....?" Babe asked.
"You need to release them more often." Babe and Charlie look at each other with a knowing look. And it's clear what the doctor means they don't need to ask any further.
"That's all right?" Charlies asks. He really wants to leave and get some fresh air to calm his thoughts. He can see babe wants that too.
"No. Back to the main problem that brought you here." Oh right?
"From the symptoms you gave me earlier, I can now be able to point out what the problem is. The answer is also in the blood test you did." The tension that had dissipated is now back and the two are looking at the doctor as if it's an alien that's sitting across them.
"What...it's not that serious, right?" Babe's voice is shaky; he tightens the grip on Charlie's hand.
"No ...it's rather.....you're pregnant." The bomb is dropped.
