MIA’S P.O.V
“Aren’t you a lucky girl?” he said as I pulled in his manor with my new porsche. “You have two of them” I said as I jumped off my car and allowed him to embrace my tiny figure. “Well, now your father, Dane Matteo will have three of these parked in his garage along with his other collector items. That lucky b*****d” said Xavier as he walked around my car, inspecting every inch of it. “Hey, watch your mouth! That’s my father that you are talking about” I scolded. “Should I watch my mouth as it invaded yours” he said as he blessed me with his enchanting kiss. “So, what did you get me?” I asked, after we broke apart. “Hmmmmm, was I supposed to get you something?” he asked, confusion masked his face. “No, I’m just kidding. You are all I want” I said, faking a smile. “You are still as sweet as you were when I first met you, but I grew to know you over these years and I can read you like an opened book. I can see the disappointment in your face Mia. Did you really think that I wouldn’t reward your success?” he asked, a smirk played on his lips making it impossible for me to take my eyes of his breath-taking appearance. “So you did get me something? What is it? Where is it?” I asked in excitement. “Patients Mia! Let’s discuss it over dinner!” he said. “We have to discuss my reward” I mumbled in confusion as I followed him to the dinner table.
The table was set in a romantic manner. It’s one of the many reasons that I can’t stop falling in love with him. He is unbelievably handsome but he also intelligent, kind, sincere and not to mention hopelessly romantic. Red roses, candles, wine, my favourite meal all under the stary night sky made dinner with him feel like a fairy-tale. These two men, my father and my boyfriend really made it known to me that the god’s have favoured me to have both of them in my life and I am equally grateful for each one of them.
“You haven’t taken a bite as yet, is something wrong?” his deep, intoxicating voice broke my train of thoughts. “No, not at all, love. Everything is perfect, almost as perfect as you are. Thank you” I said and reflected his smile. I took a bite of my lasagne which was done to perfection “hmmmmm, It’s divine” I said. “Thank you, compliments to the chef” said Xavier. “I would like to meet him, someone who can cook this well must be a god in the kitchen” I said. “You want to meet the chef?” he asked, he sky blue eyes held a hint of grey as they sparkled at me. “Yes” I said, giving him my bright smile. “He is seated in front of you” he said, leaving me in shock. “You cooked this?” I asked, in complete awe. ‘How can a person be so flawless and perfect’ I thought to myself. “Yes I did, I’ve been cooking since I was 18” he said. “I wish I could have food cooked by you every day, but then I might look like an elephant by the time I turn 19” I joked. “Aren’t you turning 19 next week” he asked. “Yes, you would know. Our birthdays are on the same date” I said. “Yes, I’m turning the big old 30” he said, sadly. “30 hay, who would say? You still look 18, the age that you were when you first met me. You haven’t aged.” I complimented. “You remember what I looked like when we first met? You was just a kid” he said. “We have quite a huge age difference, don’t we?” he added, his tone sad. “Yes, but age doesn’t matter and you are only 11 years older than me” I said quickly, trying to brighten his mood but he said nothing. “Age is just a number Xavier. Besides it’s too late to go back now. I love you Xavier and I have known you for so many years, I cannot live without you. I would die” I said, my tone desperate as I feared the end of our relationship… but he remained silent, as he filled his mouth with food. “Marry me Xavier? Please! It’s been such a good day, you can’t ruin it by refusing me!” I said, still desperate but to my surprise he started to chuckle. “Kitten, are you playing the guilt card now? I will be made into a villain if I refuse your request and say no to you.” He said and continued to chuckle. “You really have a way with your words, hay” he said and then he seemed to be drawn deep into his thoughts, but I decided to leave him there so I continued with my meal. “You know kitten, my gift to you was actually supposed to be to meet your father” he said and took a sip of his wine as he looked at the view of his manor, avoiding to read the desperation that laid in my eyes. “I would love that” I said, trying to read his emotions but after knowing him after all these years I still couldn’t read him like he could read me. “But, I don’t think that’s such a good idea anymore” he said. “What? Why?” I said, putting my fork down. “I don’t think that Dane Matteo will allow a man who is 11 years older to marry his daughter” he said. “If he knows that the man is Xavier knight and not someone he is absolutely clueless about he might say ‘Yes’. But Xavier, when he knows how strong our love is and how happy you make me he will definitely say ‘Yes’ and there’s no doubt about that. My father is a strong believer of true love, since I was a little girl he used to tell me stories of the love he and my mother shared. They loved each other so much Xavier. He was everything to her and she was his whole world, unfortunately they happiness was cut short b-by he-r her…” I started to tear at the thought of how unfair life has been to them, how much they loved each other and how their love story remains incomplete, how two souls who were meant to be with each other’s was forcely separated and how much I want to see the love that they had and not just hear about it…but I cannot. “Hay..don’t cry. He has you and I’m sure that wherever your mum is, she is smiling upon you. Don’t be sad. Everything will be okay” Xavier tried to comfort me. “Maybe if my father see’s the love that we have for each other, then he would feel more complete” I thought aloud as Xavier got up from his seat across me and made his way towards me, to take me in his warm embrace. “Xavier, please meet him so we can make our love known and not hide it anymore. Something so pure and so beautiful shouldn’t be hidden and besides that maybe it can heal my father. He doesn’t show it but I know that he is still hurting. I see him lost in her portrait, sometimes I find him sitting on the edge of his bed and staring at her photo. Xavier please let’s heal him” I requested. “Okay, I’ll meet your father. I’ll do anything for you” he said and he placed a kiss on my forehead…
