Chapter 13

1055 Words
Blair and Nyla POV... I take Enna to a chair in the smaller, more intimate council chambers and wait for everyone else to be seated. She looks up and me and a deep, red blush creeps into her cheeks before she quickly looks away. She practically stares holes in the floor as her aunt and sister walk past in order to take their seats, as requested. I sit next to Enna, "We don't have to do this now. I can tell that you are still weak and are needing to heal. They don't need to do this now. They can wait until you call the meeting and not them. You have been through enough in the past few days." She sighs and looks up at me, "It will be the same on which ever day this is done. However, I know the council will not rest until they have answers that will suffice for the time being." "My queen," My brother starts, "Whenever you are read, then we will begin." "Alpha Emmerson... If I may," She says before looking to her aunt, "My Aunt may be better equipped to tell the events of what transpired that morning. Seeing as I was but a pup then and doing what pups did best, had wandered off earlier in the morning." "That seems to be reasonable enough," My brother says as he looks to Rana, "Seer Rana Marx, it has been a long time since I have had the pleasure to be in your company." Her aunt nods before standing, "In order to allow everyone to see the events of that day, I will need permission from each party in order to mind link with them." Some of the councilmen begin to chatter from their seats, "My Aunt is a Seer, many have only ever heard of their abilities and have never witnessed their ability first hand. I am sympathetic to your reservations, but if you wish to know the truth of that day, then this is the easiest way to pursue that course of action." As if on cue, councilman Erickson jumps from his seat, sneering at Erna, "We have little to no concluding evidence that you are who you say you are. How are we to trust or believe your word on your claim of legitimacy based on some stunted try at causing snow to flurry about a room?" Sienna growls at him before standing, "How dare you question me and my claim. I am sure that you are completely ignorant of your actions and the severity that they may have upon you." "You come trauncing in here as a Rogue ker who has lived in a shack with for the past however many years. You have only now come to us? Why now? Why have you hidden yourself away from us for this length of time if you truly are who you have claimed to be? How are we to know the truth of your origins?" The temperature in the room drops exponentially as Sienna glares at Erickson, "You dare question my claim? You had best had better ground to stand on in order to prove your accusation that my claim to my name and titles is a false one." "The first born daughter of Megera and Marx Fell was born a sickly pup and was not expected to live past the age of a year. How do you expect us to believe that you are who you claim to be? You are a sickly and weak thing that is presented before us now. To believe that you are the daughter of the High King and Queen would be a mistake on the part of all who do." Sienna growls this time as the temperature drops enough to cause ice to form on the stone wall. The light from the sun's rays that was pouring though the windows moments ago seems to fade as Sienna begins to levitate from the ground on which she stood. "Who are you make these claims? Were you there? Were you burning with my family? With our people? Where were you when we were being massacred by Rogues and the humans? Who are you to say that I am not the direct decedent of the Night God and the Moon Goddess herself?" She raises her arms and she begins to glow iridescently, "Who are you to question the Gods? Will you deny them now?" I can feel the rush of unearthly power coursing through her veins right now and it makes goose flesh appear on my arms and the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. I know that she cannot maintain this state for much longer. I don't know how she even got her in the first place. It should not be possible with her current condition. Out of fear for her health, I reach up and take her hand in mine, "Sienna... Please. You need to come back down to me." "I can bear first hand, witness to the validity of the woman standing before us all," Another councilman stands. Councilman Costa,  "The crowned High Princess has a birthmark on the back side of her right ear. That birthmark is a crescent moon with a rose in the center of it. I have this knowledge as I was the one who crowned her and I was the one whom the Moon Goddess blessed her through." Sienna comes back to the ground next to me and as the iridescent glow leaves her skin, she slumps over and puts her forehead at the base of my shoulder. I hold her to me. Just as surprised by her actions as she is, but she stays in my embrace. "Sienna... I have no reason to doubt you, nor do I, but to sate them, I must ask if I can check for the birthmark." She nods against me and push her soft, moon-kissed hair from the side of her head and neck. I bend her ear over and sure enough there is a crescent moon shaped birthmark with a rose in the center of it. "Councilman Costa speaks the truth. She bears the mark... Brother," I say, "We will take our leave now." He nods, "Go. Please, make her comfortable. I will deal with this mess with Rana's help."
