A NEW LIFE

Catherine came rushing in with a bowl of water with a confused look.

"What is going on? why did you scream my name?"she asked

Then she noticed my mum laying on the floor, passed out

"What the hell happened here?" she asked

I couldn't answer, I was busy trying to figure out what was wrong with my mum. I soaked a clean towel in the water and rubbed it all over ther face { I really should have paid attention in first aid class}. After a while my mum finally woke up, she complained of a migraine so I put her on her bed with the help of Catherine.

"Are you alright mum?" I asked

"Yes sweetheart, I am probably just tired" she replied

"We should let her get some rest" Catherine said

We both left the room so my mum could rest up. Definitely not how I planned my day to go. I walked down the sitting room's window to reflect on how a crazy the day had been, suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder, my eyes turned milky white, and I started seeing images of a land filled with flowers and a mountain with a sword on the top guarded by a 30ft long black dragon.

"Theo? Theo?" Catherine called as she tapped my shoulder repeatedly

"Yeah? what"s up?" I said, trying to figure out if I was going crazy

I refused to be part of this weird party, so I decided to pretend i didn't see anything and move on with my life {being delusional has never been a problem for me}

"Are you okay?" Catherine asked

"Yes aunty" I smirked

"I swear, I would bite you if you call me aunt one more time" she said with an annoyed look

"Well I had no idea you were so kinky" I teased

"You really are annoying, you know right" she said

"I should get an award for that, I am not appreciated enough" I said

She rolled her eyes and sighed then walked to the kitchen to prepare dinner since my mum is resting all night

"Theo!" she called

"I am starting to think you enjoy screaming my name " I said

"Shut up and go help me get some chilli sauce from the mart or something" she said

"Do I reallly have to go?" I asked

I really hate the outside world and people,and school and did I mention people?

"Yes you do, so make it quick" she said

I picked up my wallet and had to go to my room to put on a jacket, it was a tad bit windy. I walked down to the supermarket hoping I would be able to recognise the chilli sauce {cooking isn't exactly my thing}. After minutes of searching I finally found it, it felt like a treasure hunt. I walked up to the cashier so I could pay up but I couldn't find my card only to realise I picked up the wrong wallet and now I have to go home to collect my wallet {the right one this time}.

On my way to my house, I saw a tall figure going inside and every part of me knew I should get to my mum and aunt fast. I ran as fast as i possible could and barged into the house to find Catherine struggling with the tall figure.

"It's him!" she screamed

I doubt the figure infront of me was a 'him', but that was enough to know i had to protect the two women in my care. I picked up a baton and hit it as hard as I could, the 'THING' noticed me and quickly grabbed Catherine and dashed away. I hesitated and wanted to check on my mum first but I had to save Catherine first { I am sorry mum}.

"Theo?" I heard my mother's voice as I chased after the Thing

I kept chasing after it and ignored her call . Suddenly I saw the THING disappearing while it was running with Catherine, with my next step I leaped toward Catherine and I grabbed her, and hit my head on landing.

I was knocked out cold but by the time I opened my eyes I was far from home, farther than you could ever imagine

Where the hell am I? I could swear Queens didn't have this much empty land and it definitely wasn't dawn. I tried standing up and I realised my head was resting on something soft and comfortable, I looked to the sky and I saw a pretty dark skinned beauty with hazel eyes, my head resting on her thighs almost made me forget my dilemma {it's quite therapeutic}.

"Are you going to keep messing around or are you going to figure out where the hell we are?" Catherine said

Back to reality folks

"What happened?" I asked

"For starters you saved me from that monster, I owe you one, but when you grabbed me, we landed on a rock and passed out, so I have no idea what happened, I just woke up to a sharp pain and I saw you bleeding from your head" she replied

Now that she mentioned it, I really do have a severe headache, I touched my head and I felt a sharp pain on my head, only to realise I was soaked in my own blood {definitely not how I imagined my first date}.

"I have no idea where this is, but its beautiful" I said while trying to stand up

"How about we walk around, we could find somewhere to get your wound treated " Catherine said

"Fine, but I prefer you being my nurse" I said

I turned around and a sudden chill went through my spine, the land was filled with grasses just like it was in my vison. I never thought sa sight so calming and beautiful would scare me so much.

Catherine took the lead and we kept walking for miles, we walked so far our legs became sore, I started to wonder how far I was from home, maybe I would see someone to ask for directions home, my mum would be really worried, and a woried mum equals half dead Theo, but something in me felt i'd never get home because there was no service in my phone so google maps was definitely not an option

"We have been walking for hours, how about we camp here for a while so i could find something to eat, I am sure there is a fruit tree somwhere, besides, it is getting really late" I said

"You do realise we need fire to actually camp, and we exactly do not know if there a wild animals lurkin. I know you want to be smart and all, but we should keep moving" she replied

I have felt pretty dumb most off the time but this time it really hurt, but I have to admit, she was right. So we kept walking till we started seeing a glow from afar.

"Look" I said, pointing at the direction of the glow

With excitement I felt the adrenaline pump through my blood and I pulled Catherine by the wrist and we both ran towards the glow till we eventually got close

"Uhm what's that?" Catherine asked

I looked at the glowing object and it looked like an oval shaped gem floating on the air

"I didn't think I hit my head that hard" I said

"Me neither. You see it too right?" Catherine asked

"Of course I do, It is the only source of light here and cosidering the fact the sun had already set, it will most likely be like that for a while" I replied

"So what should we do?" Catherine asked

"For starters lets back up a little bit untill we figure out what it is" I replied

Slowly backing up and watching the gem like a ticking time bomb, I just had to step on water

"I dont think that is a gem stone" Catherine said

"Why do you say so?" I asked

"I doubt floating gem stones can change their shapes like that" she said

I took one glance at the gem stone and I could see it changing form and growing into a four legged animal.The white in me wanted to stay to see what the hell was going on, but I also have black blood, so obviously I ran

The gem turned into a living animal, it had four legs and a 9 feet long tail, an actual long tongue which wasn’t made out of gem and fangs. It looked like a panther from glitter land…because it’s skin was pure crystal

It roared so loud, and that sent shivers down my spine, Catherine held my hand and dragged me away as the beast locked eyes on both us. We ran east while being chased by this monster

“What the hell is going on?” I shouted

“Just keep running”Catherine replied

The beast was quite persistent, and we were really getting exhausted. Luckily for us, it wasn’t so fast for some reason, and it moved like it was injured

We saw trees as we ran and we decided to run towards the direction of the trees, it seemed like a nice escape plan. As we got closer we saw that it was and entire forest, being chased by a wild animal and choosing to run into the wild is not such a smart thing to do but it’s something. We ran into the forest and suddenly the beast stopped chasing us.

We paused to catch our breathe for a while

“That can’t be a good thing “ Catherine said

“You rather play tag with that thing? “ I asked

“No but why did it stop” she said

I actually didn’t think that far ahead, I rather remain positive as much as I could. We kept walking and trying as much as possible to stick close to each other, we wouldn’t want to add missing to our list of fun things experienced today

“Did you hear that?” I asked

“Hear what?” Catherine replied in a shaky voice

“I think it’s the leave monster” I said with a smirk on my face

“It is not funny!!” She said

“Easy love, there’s no harm in lightening up the mood “ I said

“Just take this seriously, until we figure out what’s going on” she responded

“Fine let’s keep going” I said

Suddenly we heard a twig snap and we stopped moving. The leaves opened up a path and the pieces of wood on the road moved to both sides of the road.

“Was there something in our last meal or are we just hungry? “ Catherine asked

“We probably hit our head too hard, that is the best explanation I can come up with” I replied

There was no way the trees are treating us like vip and opening up a path for us

“I am guessing we walk down the aisle”, Catherine said

“A weird way to say you want to marry me, but sure I’d love to “ I teased.

We kept walking, and we saw a cabin at the end of the road. I felt a burst of excitement and relief. I can finally call my mum, she would be worried sick.

"Catherine, am I the only one who wants to cry from all the excitement?" I asked.

I didn't hear a reply, so I turned, in her direction and Catherine was gone.
