Stronger Than Most

Chapter Fifteen

David POV

I keep going to the pack hospital to check up on the Alpha. Ever since he got stabbed with that dagger, it has taken longer for him to heal. In the mean time, I am running things around here until he gets better. Turns out that dagger had a good amount of wolfsbane and was made out of silver. That was very clever, and it explains why so many who got hit with it did not survive long after and did not heal. The Alpha is much stronger but he is hanging by a thread. He just needs to let go. I can run this pack better than he can. I should have been Alpha all along. I usually challenged him to fights when we were younger to prove that, even though I was a beta, I was still stronger than him.

I lost my mate because of one of those attacks, but it did not come from me. Only if he had listened to me would we not be in this predicament. We used to be a strong, powerful pack, but his hatred has made us weaker. I have one more card to use and that is my daughter. She got a allot from her mother. I hope she has got my temper. She needs to see that we need an alliance to get strong again. Her being Luna of the Half Moon Pack can get me closer to where I want to be. She needs to be Adams' mate, whatever means necessary.

It has been a couple of months that we have not had a rouge attacked. Of course, I ordered nothing at all because he was down. I need to find out where those other attacks are coming from because they are not coming from me, and those stupid idiots don't know anything.They never do. They think that I will keep my promise that they can join the pack once I take the Alpha position, but they are so wrong.They are useless to me.They take too long and I'm growing very inpatient. I'm not getting any younger either. Well, I'm not that old, we stop aging around the age of twenty-five. After that, we just start aging very slowly, but not immortal.

For years I have been trying to take over this pack. He was never capable of being an Alpha. I just played along with it. Trying to be his friend, to get closer. That worked out for a while until I gained his trust, but I still need to accomplish my goal. That is to be the alpha of Saphire Blue Moon Pack. My mate was the chosen mate, not by the goddess. I never found my true mate. She was not part of the plan but it happened. She got killed by one of the rouge attacks I had set up. I was just hurt about it because my daughter Sharlot was left without a mother at such a young age. That slowed me down on my plans and forced me to wait until she gets old enough to marry someone with power. I have tried molding her through the years to be more like me, but she is more like her mother. Her head is strong and she can sense when something is not right. I have always played it off like its nothing, like it could be something else.

I feel like she might be catching on, on what my plans may be, but she has not connected the dots yet.Tonight she went to that Adams birthday. I hope he finds out that she is his mate. If not, then I have to be more stern with her and push her to make him reject his mate for her. We were born for power, to rule, not just be Betas. That thought gives me a better plan. If she becomes Adams' mate, I have to make sure they don't have a child. It would be easier to get rid of him and that way I can take over both packs and have more power and rule over all these wolves.

I still have another burden I need to get rid of and that is Elijah. Even though he found out that he is not his son, he can still take over and be Alpaha because his mother was our Luna. Not everyone knows the real story, just a handful of us. We swore to never say a word. There is no problem there with me, I despise him. I have told Alpha Nick countless times, he needs to get rid of Elijah. Never know if one day he finds out the truth and will take him down and take over as the new Alpha of the pack. If he finds out soon what is going on, he can easily take over.

This is a good time to kill Elijah, and if the Alpha finds out, I can just simply make up a story that he got killed by a rouge, or too weak to survive.That mutt can not be alive. That would change everything I can't have that. After all these years, no one knows who Elijah's real father is. No matter how much I have investigated, nothing has been found. No one has even come forward to even try to defend him. Maybe his real father is not from this pack,but there has not been a trace of anything.

"Hello father." I was so lost in my own thoughts that I did not hear when Sharlot got home.

"Hi honey, how did everything go?" It did not go how I expected it to go, by the way she looked."Is everything okay?"

"Everything is good. I had a good time. Before you ask, no, I don't know if I'm his mate, I'm not of age yet to know, remember?" she says with a chuckle.

"I know honey, I just thought that he might let you know, since he can feel it even though you are not of age yet to feel it yourself."

"Well, something seems off. I can not be for sure, but I think my suspicions are right. I don't know how the mate bond works but you do, since you had it with mother."

"What do you mean?"

"He was speaking with a beautiful girl.. Don't get me wrong dad, I felt some jealousy, but I understand that once you find your mate that the goddess has for you, there is no breaking it. I believe that girl he was speaking with was his mate and I believe he rejected her. Those it hurt? How does that work?"

"Once you find your mate, there is a strong hold of you. Your wolves would always try to keep you both together, that bond is strong. You wont be able to resist it." I tell her according to the stories I have heard throughout the years. "It is very hard to break a bond, its so painful that one of you or both may die. Did you see anything like that?"

"I saw the girl almost fall to her knees, then she just left running out of their crying. Adam was hatched over but try to act like nothing and his friends to him outside. I went to check up on him but he was not too nice and I just left after that."

"I'm guessing according to what you are saying that is probably what happened. are you going to talk to him again tonight?"

"I don't think so, this has been too much for me. I'm just tired right now and just want to go to bed. I'll talk to him tomorrow."

"Find out as soon as you can exactly what happened. If that is what took place, I want you to make sure that you marry him. Find out why he rejected her."

"Why do you want me to marry him so badly? What if I don't like him?"

"Whether you like him or not, you have to marry him. We need this alliance....besides, we are meant to lead and have power."

"But father..'

There is no butt. What I said is final. Dont argue with me about it. It is our duty to restore this pack. You know Alpha Nick is not doing so well, maybe he will never recover."
