When we got to my parents' house, I watched Effie's face light up and have this wow look on her face. When she saw how big and grand my parents' place here is, she was amazed. Their house in Russia is big, but it's nothing compared to this place. This place was the first home that my dad ever bought.
When he was still just an underling under my grandfather, he spent most of his time working here and wanted a huge house. He told us as kids that he always imagined this house being the main family home. He wanted to grow his family here. He never wanted to live in Russia full-time because of his dad. But when he took over, he ended up having to move to Russia.
So we spent most of our time in Russia and only came here when we had vacations. At least until we were all out of school
