After a busy day on Friday at the bakery, I was happy when the night was finally over. I made the five cakes that I was supposed to make. But then I ended up with another two cakes from walk-ins that just had to be done today. Because I have a policy about walk-ins for cakes, they had to pay extra money. It's even posted out by the register and at the order station.
I made sure that anyone knew that a last-minute made-to-order cake would cost extra because it would put me working longer and in a rush. And in order to get a last-minute cake, you have to come in to order it. We don't take any orders over the phone for them.
