THE lOST HOPE
JAYDEN'S POV
In the deep forest, the birds singing, winds whistling and leaves rustling. Jayden stood in the middle of dark forest staring at the big oak tree. The gigantic tree with its huge branches and spirally arranged leaves flows in the direction of the wind. He looks at nature with love, imagining how to carve a beauty out of the tree. He pats the bark of the tree.
"Do not worry, you are in safe hands. I will make sure I create something beautiful out of you." The word safe hand rang a bell. Like a wounded lion, he screamed her name:" Jessica......".
His voice echoed so loudly. His fair skin gradually turned red. He ran his hand through his brown hair. His hand became so sweaty that he had to make a fist. With a broken heart, he fell to the ground and sobbed silently.
" I thought I was in a safe hand, I gave you my heart and you shattered my life". He kneels and hugs the big oak tree. His hazel blue eyes closed.
The clear sky changed and rain started drizzling. It was a magical time for him. The forest bows to the call of nature. Jayden's mood changes as the rain wets his muscular body. He stood slowly with weak limbs. He reached for a drink in the back of his pocket and sipped it. His favorite drink has always been an antidote to his problems. He stretched his body and reached out for his equipment.
With so much energy and strength, he began to cut down the tree. Jayden is a sculptor who loves to carve out art from stone and wood. He is a young handsome man with broad shoulders. He has brown hair and his eyes are hazel blue . He took the branches which he had cut out from the oak tree to the back of his truck.
" Oh man, this is so heavy" he said, carrying the branches over his broad shoulders to his truck. He dropped the branches panting heavily. A sad thought engulfed him. " No, I won't do that, Jessica won't bring out the beast in me" he muttered. "Let's get to work," he said to himself as he entered his car and drove his truck to his workshop, which was on the outskirts of the Amor village.
At his workshop, dressed in a tattered shirt and shorts, he sat on the chair using sandpaper to scrub a work of art. Suddenly, he got lost in his thoughts.
"I need to fix things, Maria needs a better life". Jayden heaves heavily. Tears dropped from his eyes. "You left me despite all the love I showered on you. You didn't even care about your daughter. You took everything I have ever worked for. Look at me now, trying to start from scratch. You eloped with your lover with my money." Jayden's eyes filled with anger for Jessica.
He squeezed the sandpaper with so much anger. He searched for his phone and dialed his wife's number numerous times.
"Please pick up your calls, Jessica", he muttered. Fortunately for him, Jessica picked up his call. "Hello, Jessica," he said with a trembling voice.
"Hello, Jayden, what can I do for you? “She said harshly, laughing over the phone.
"Jessica, please reconsider your plans and come back to us. I am ready to accept you despite everything you have done to us", he said, sobbing. His body shivers as he tries to take a grip of his phone.
"I've told you countless times, you are a game I played well and won. Maria isn't part of the plan though? She is a mistake which ought not to happen " she said without feeling remorseful.
"Okay, at least for the sake of our daughter, give me back some of my properties so that I can take better care of our daughter", he said with a firm voice. He held onto his phone so tight.
Jessica laughed hysterically "you must be out of your mind" she replied. Jayden, so pained, attempts to smash the phone but then, on second thought, he had no money to get a new phone.
"Please, don't call me again, take care of yourself and your daughter. Baby girl has to go" she said, without hesitation, and ended the call.
Jayden bows his head with regret. Evil thoughts shadowed his mind, but then Jayden is a calm and quiet young man.
“How could she trick me in giving her all I have worked for" he yelled. His yell echoed like the sound of a wounded lion. There was a sudden silence in the room. He opened his wallet and took out a portrait of himself and Jessica. He stared at the portrait with tearful eyes.
Jayden was able to get hold of himself when his daughter's school bus arrived in front of his workshop with a loud car honk. Quickly, he wipes his tears with the back of his sweaty palm. To lighten up the atmosphere in the room, he switched on the radio and tuned it to a music channel. My baby is back!!!" he said. As is their normal routine, he has to hide somewhere and his daughter, Maria will have to look for him.
"Dad, I am home!!! A soft voice called. A young-looking innocent girl walked into the workshop with a broad smile on her little face.
" I know you are in there......" She tiptoed as she walked round the workshop in search for her father.
"Maria..." Jayden calls his daughter from his showroom.
