Chapter 7

901 Words
Meeting up with Jade the next day seemed to be easier said than done for some reason Liam wanted to go with me and it took everything in me to convince him to either stay at my house or go somewhere else. The fact that I told him that Jade and I were having a girl’s day didn’t seem to sway him in the slightest in fact he seemed even more determined to go with or at least go and stay at a distance. What seemed to finally convince him was the fact that if I even caught a whiff of him at any point. He would never touch me again and if he tried I would remove his d**k with a rusty kitchen knife. Seeing how serious I was about it he dropped the subject and left while I was waiting for Jade to pick me up. Breathing a sigh of relief I couldn’t help but feel bad as I listened to his truck pull out of the driveway leaving me to my thoughts while I waited for jade to pick me up. Thankfully it wasn’t long before I heard her car pull up saving me at least momentarily from the guilt I was feeling. “Well you look like s**t” Glancing at Jade I didn’t bother to reply instead settling for glaring at her as I plopped down into the seat. “Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning whats with the look on your face. You’d think since you have a big sexy wolf sharing your bed you would be in a better mood I know I would be.” Heaving a sigh I looked out the window watching trees and houses pass by as we drove. “I had to lie to Liam I told him we were having a girl’s day and even after telling him that he wanted to tag along saying he would keep his distance. The only thing that made him back off was me threatening to castrate him with a rusty kitchen knife… I guess that I just feel bad for lying to him and not telling him about what we are really doing…” Pausing I looked to Jade waiting for her to say something and for once my very talkative best friend was silent. Looking back out the window I hesitated not sure how to put into words what else was bothering me. "I like Liam I know that I’m not ready to mate let alone be luna to an entire pack but I don’t know why this bothers me so much when right now all we are is equivalent to f**k buddies. It pisses me off that this bothers me he is just some wolf for f***s sake!” letting out a growl I slammed my palm down on the dash of the car the sting making me feel slightly better. “Anna he is your mate I’m not surprised you feel like that I know you are doing your best to ignore the mate bond but regardless of the fact that you don’t want to acknowledge it the fact is that it exists. He Is YOUR Mate. Accept it or don’t it doesn’t bother me but the longer you treat this as if it’s nothing and he is no one other than a f**k buddy then you will not only hurt yourself but also hurt Liam. Now I’ve told you what I think you can accept it and accept him or live in denial for the rest of your life it’s your choice.” While Jade spoke she pulled off the highway and onto a dirt road slowing only because of the potholes in the road. The rest of the drive seemed to take forever and while it gave me a chance to think on Jade’s words. As much as I wished she wasn’t I knew she was right I couldn’t keep denying the bond that I felt between Liam and me as much as I wish I could. I knew I didn’t love Liam but most didn’t love their mates right away that part of the bond took time just like any other relationship. I liked Liam and I knew for a fact that I could eventually have stronger feelings for him if I gave him and myself the chance. Why did this have to be so complicated? Why couldn’t he just be a fox or some other type of small shifter I thought sourly as we pulled up to an older-style farm house. ‘ “So this is where your witch friend lives? Cause this doesn’t really look like a witch lives here” Glancing at Jade as we stepped from the car and made our way towards the steps that led up to the home. “What were you expecting? An old hut with a bunch of cauldrons and a witches broom out front? Cause I could certainly do that but I prefer modern amenities to something from a children’s story.” The voice came from behind me making me jump whirling around a girl that couldn’t be any older than 17 stood at the base of the steps. This couldn’t be the witch there was no way Jade had said she was one of the most powerful in the area this couldn’t be her, could it?
