The weather was getting worse. Amelia was drenched when she returned with the needed medicines for Aiden. She was lucky enough to find the pharmacy before it was closed down due to the weather. A storm was on the way, which according to the weather news would stay for two days or so. Claire came in handing a warm towel to Amelia which she gladly took.
"Go take a hot bath Amy, You need it if you don't wanna catch a cold." Claire suggested while checking the medicines.
"Yeah I'll go take a hot bath. What about dinner?" Amelia raised her eyebrow at Claire.
"You fatass I knew you would be starving. I made your favorite Chicken Alfredo and some porridge for Aiden which he must have finished by now."
Amelia grinned at Claire, "You are the best!"
"Yeah I know, I am going to give these medicines to Aiden. You better take a hot bath and come down to eat in fifteen."
"Gotcha!" Amelia went up the stairs took the left to her room. Opening the door, she felt nostalgic. Everything was the same as she remembered. Sighing she opened her closet took out warm clothes and a towel. She ran a warm bath before stripping out of her already drenched clothes and soaked herself in the tub savoring the warmth of the water. 'This feels nice'. She pumped out a handful of her favorite lavender shampoo and started massaging lightly on her scalp down her raven black hairs. She loved her hairs, it reminded her of her mother. Her mother was a beautiful woman with heart shaped face, raven black hairs and sky blue eyes. Amelia wanted eyes like her mother's. But her eyes were a darker shade of blue. Her crystal blue eyes were gorgeous but she always wanted her eyes to be like her mother's, sky blue eyes, as light as if resembling the sky of a clear sunny day. She washed herself thoroughly before getting out of the tub, drying herself with her warm towel and getting into her warm clothes. She walked out of the bathroom which was attached with her room. She blow dried her hairs before exiting her room.
She skipped down the stairs quickly, she was starving. Reaching the dining table she opened the hot pot which was placed on the table and was soon drooling at the sight of her favorite Chicken Alfredo. "Claire where the heck are you at?" she yelled waiting impatiently for her cousin "Coming!" Claire yelled back from the guest room she was staying at. Amelia went in the kitchen grabbing two plates, one for her and the another one for Claire. She was walking out of the kitchen when she hit hard on a wall, "Ouch!" groaning she looked up only to come across Aiden who had a sheepish smile, "Sorry I didn't see you there."
"Dammit are you made of steel? It stings!"
Aiden chuckled, "Yeah I am The man of steel, the one and only Superman." he joked. Amelia started laughing which Aiden joined.
"Lol-" Amelia's eyes widened realizing she bumped into him, he was injured real bad "but wait what the f**k are you doing here? Are you alright? Did I hurt you?-" She held him looking at his bandages checking if the wounds opened back accidently when they bumped into each other, she was panicking, "Are your stitches alright? Aren't you supposed to be asleep? Claire will kill you if she sees you here! You should have called me or Claire if you needed anything because you are not supposed to be walking in this state." She was ranting continuously but Aiden was staring at her intently. 'She cares for me and here I thought she was heartless'. He was happy to look how she got worried over something so trivial. Her worried state proved that she cared for him more than she showed on. He was smiling like a fool. He was happy to see her worried about him.
Amelia narrowed her eyes at Aiden, "What are you smiling about?" hearing her question Aiden recovered putting on a straight face. "N..o no..thing" he stuttered. 's**t did I just stutter? Way to make a fool of yourself Aiden!' Aiden inwardly scolded himself whilst Amelia was staring at him in amusement. Aiden cleared his throat, "I'm alright after all I'm the man of steel." Amelia chuckled at his joke. "Do you need something?"
"Oh right, I came for water."
Amelia handed him a bottle full of water, "Here you go. Lemme take you to your room." she held his forearm carefully, escorting him to the another guest room which was given to him because it was downstairs as it was hard for him to take stairs. She helped him sit on the bed. He gulped down the water from the bottle she handed him earlier. "Thank you" Aiden said with a small smile. "Wait did you eat yet?" he asked.
"Not yet. I will go eat now." she smiled at him. 'He noticed'.
"Yeah get going. Eat well." he smiled back at her.
"Yeah, you should sleep now." she helped him lay down carefully. "I'll be off now, Goodnight. Call me if you need something, alright?"
"Gotcha. Good night to you too." Aiden smiled.
Amelia went to eat. Claire was already seated serving the food, "Where were you? Ah never mind come and eat quickly or the food will get cold."
"Yeah" Amelia mumbled as she wolfed down her food. Damn she was starving! Why do I care about him so much? This is so unlike me. She inwardly groaned. 'Damn I don't even know anything about him. He looks like trouble and yet I am feeling these things for a total stranger. I shrugged it off as I focused on eating and what am I supposed to do next. I was only a step away from my aim and I cannot mess this up for a stranger who's personality screams 'TROUBLE'. Well I have my doubts about him. I am just waiting for my source to fill me in all the details of this man'.
Claire pulled me back from my thoughts, "Amy you are zoning out. What is going in that crazy little head of yours?"
I cleared my throat, "Nothing. This is so delicious! You can be a chef Rey." Claire chuckled, "You know you can't lie to me. Something is bothering you, I can tell."
Amelia sighed, "We will talk about this later Rey. I am exhausted, I just wanna hit the bed."
"Okay fine but you have to tell me later. You should go sleep. I'll do the dishes first." Claire smiled at Amelia. Amelia nodded a yes.
"Thank you Rey, sleep well. I'll be off now." Amelia smiled back at her cousin before going upstairs. She hit the bed as soon as she entered her room. 'Such an eventful day' was all she thought before dozing off.
Sprinting down the road, I was excited to see my parents. I would see them after a long time. I had so much planned to do with them, like a normal family.
Before I knew I was standing right infront of the door. I took out the keys from my school bag, unlocking the door, I went in. It was dark inside which made me halt for a while to adjust my eyes to the darkness. I walked in and tripped. "Oh Fuckin' Hell" I cursed out. I went towards the switchboard and turned on the lights. I turned around to see what caused me to trip but the sight before me had me screaming while walking backwards. "No.. n..o..NOOOO..whh...yyy" I was sobbing as I saw blood everywhere, two people lying on the floor lifeless, pale as paper, within a pool of blood. My heads started feeling dizzy, I was nauseous at the sight, I couldn't think straight. I was out of breath. I couldn't breath...... Amelia bolted straight up on the bed with a bloody scream.
She was sweating, breathing hardly when Aiden and Claire rushed towards, "Are you alright?" Aiden was patting her back which had electric waves running up her spine while Claire came at her other side handing her a glass of water. "What is going on with you?" Claire asked as Amelia breathed in deeply before gulping down the water. "I am alright. It was just another nightmare." She was still panting.
"You still get those?" Claire raised her eyebrow at her while Aiden stared at her intently. "Not frequently" she mumbled.
Claire sighed as she looked at Aiden when realization stucked her. "What are you doing here Aiden? You are not supposed to even walk."
Aiden raised his hand in surrender, " I know I know, but Amelia screamed so loudly I thought there was a thief who broke in."
Amelia rolled her eyes as Claire sighed, "Okay let's take you to your room downstairs-" Claire then turned towards Amelia "You go sleep."
"Aye Aye captain" she grinned at her cousin.
Aiden and Claire walked out of her room leaving her with her thoughts and the tingles at her back where Aiden touched her earlier. She felt oddly peaceful.
'Maybe I won't get another nightmare'. She saw the clock, it was 3:20AM. 'Let's go back to sleep'. She snuggled in her fluffy blanket and dozed off.
While Aiden back in his room downstairs was lost in his thoughts. Wondering what Amelia must have dreamt about to be so out of breath. She was covered in sweat and when Claire said 'You still get those' made it clear that she has those nightmares often. He wondered what was her traumatic past that she has such nightmares. His heart clenched a little. 'Why do I care this much about her? This is so unlike me.' He remembered how he felt electric waves up his veins when he patted her back. He remembered how her eyes held a look of fear mixed with guilt and hate. He wanted to know more about her. He remembered how he panicked when he heard her scream. His heart was beating wildly at the thought of something or someone hurting her. He felt anger and anxiety filling him with a foreign feeling which he could not pin point. He didn't feel like sleeping but his body needed rest. The medicines started to kick in as his body started to shut down and before he knew he was in a deep sleep.

Amelia wake up early then she thought since she had time she took a long shower and blow dried her hairs. The Strom was getting heavier. There was no network in her mobile. ‘Maybe I didn’t get the details yet because of network issues'. She knew it was unlike her source to take so much time for sending her the details. She went in the kitchen and was greeted with the sight of Claire cooking pancakes.
“Good morning Rey” she greeted her cousin.
“ Good morning, here is your pancake.” Claire said while placing freshly made pancake in her plate. “Thank you” Amelia grinned at her cousin while taking the plate when she remembered, “What about Aiden?”
“He had orange juice and an apple already.” Ah a health freak she wondered.
“Oh I see” she Mumbled before pouring maple syrup on her pancake. She moaned when she took a big bite of her pancake. Her plate was empty within a few minutes.
“Eat slowly Amy!” Claire scolded her.
“I can’t help it. I’m eating your pancakes after six fuckin’ months Rey! And these are so delicious as ever.” She mumbled while eating. Claire chuckled when a voice cut in, “Why didn’t you cook pancakes then?” Aiden raised his eyebrows at Amelia. Aiden’s question had Claire laughing. Everyone knew Amelia sucked in cooking. Amelia glared at her cousin and Aiden was looking at them in confusion. “What is so funny about Amelia cooking?” He asked which Claire answered, “Last time she cooked, she was a minute away from burning down the whole kitchen! Amelia in a kitchen is a disaster.” Aiden was looking at Amelia in amusement and Amelia was glaring daggers at her cousin.
“Yeah I know I suck at cooking.” She said rolling her eyes at Claire.
“She has a chef as her roommate. Lucky b***h!” Claire grinned at her.
“Damn you are lucky.” Aiden said as he sat himself down on the couch. Claire got up and went in the kitchen to clean the mess while Amelia sat herself on a chair beside the couch. She took out her phone to see their was no network. “Ugh there is no network coverage.”
Aiden turned to look out the window, “Yeah the Strom is getting bad.” Amelia followed his gaze and saw the weather outside was getting worse. “They say it’s gonna last two days or so.”
“What about your family? Are you worried for someone?” Amelia looked at Aiden. Aiden held her gaze, “My mom went to her hometown so I’m not worried about her but I’ve a stupid little brother who always finds trouble or it’s the other way around.” Aiden shrugged.
Amelia smiled at him but she inwardly she was calculating him. “When will you contact your friend? You should at least give a call to your troublesome brother. He will be worried about you.” Aiden chuckled.
“I’ll call my friend when the signal is restored. For now let me enjoy this peace.”
“You sound like a really busy person who got a week for himself without worries.” Amelia said while sipping her orange juice, “That’s what I’m. I’m the CEO of King's Pvt. LTD. and this really feels like a vacation to me.” Amelia choked on her juice which had Aiden laughing. Amelia glared at him. “I knew something was fishy. Such a pleasure to have the CEO of King’s Pvt LTD in my house.” Amelia snorted as Aiden chuckled.
“The pleasure is all mine.”
"Why didn't you tell me before?"
"How can I trust anyone? I cannot risk myself getting kidnapped."
Amelia rolled her eyes at him, "Yeah yeah the news headlines saying 'The business tycoon kidn*pped' is quite a reputation."
"Hey I'm injured it's not like I can help myself if I get into such situation."
Amelia held his eyes for a moment, "Even god won't help you if you can't help yourself." Aiden held her gaze, "You are so mean." Aiden stated.
"So I've been told." Amelia countered.
Aiden stared at her intensely. She looked him dead in his eyes, “So who tried to kill you? I’m damn sure you were betrayed by your most trustful person.” His eyes widened and his reaction was enough for Amelia to figure out she was indeed correct.
Aiden sighed, “You are damn smart.” 'I'm so screwed. This woman is going to be the death of me.’ Aiden groaned inwardly.
Amelia smirked, “So I’ve been told.”
