Childhood Sweethearts

327 Words
Amelia walked in the living room only to come across -Aiden and Carl in an intense staring competition. Aiden didn't seem pleased to know Carl and Amelia are childhood bestfriends. "What the f**k are you both up to?" Amelia sat next to Carl, which had Aiden glaring daggers at Carl. Claire cleared her throat gaining Amelia's attention. "The Strom is still bad, so I think Carl should stay here today." giving a pointed look at Amelia. Amelia knew her cousin had always liked her childhood friend Carl but she couldn't understand Aiden's hostility towards Carl. "Well since I'm gonna stay the night here, I'll be cooking Amelia's favourite dish." he looked at Amelia -affection clear in his eyes. Aiden didn't like how Carl was going to stay the night here, how he knows Amelia from childhood, how he looks at her, he just didn't like him. He himself was confused with his own behavior. "Well I'm hungry." she looks at Carl, giving him her best puppy eyes. Carl looks at her with a crooked smile, making him look as handsome as he was from childhood. Aiden just sat there glaring at him and if looks could kill -Carl would've been already six feet under. Carls walks in the kitchen as Claire follows him like a love struck puppy. "So who is he?" Aiden asks in a stern voice. "Carlson Brooke. My childhood friend." Aiden's body tenses, voice as cold as ice, "Childhood sweethearts, I see." he scoffs. "Well -can say that." Amelia smirks at him. Aiden looks away from her, Amelia tilts her head, "Let's get back to the topic which was left out -What will you do now? Won't you tell the cops?" Aiden raised his left eyebrow at her, "You think law can always brings justice?" "Not always, but people still believe in it, don't they?" Amelia looked at him, studying his every moment, every word, every gesture. "I'm not one of them." Aiden states.
