Reencounter in a Sanctuary - (Arthur)

895 Words
"I don't like this chasing secrets, I don't like this Easter egg hunt, I want something more exciting! Maybe I can get it at this school, apparently fighting here is encouraged." thought Arthur as he walked around the school grounds, looking for any clues about the scrolls, "I had one of them in my hands, I won it after an intense test of courage and still let it slip from my hands, everything, because I didn't go able to protect everyone with my strength! I won't let it happen anymore, I CAN'T let it happen!" Lost in thought, Arthur found himself in front of a sanctuary, “This school really has everything. Even a sanctuary.” It was a beautiful sanctuary, with marble columns and white walls. Here were the images of the Khand's pantheon of gods, all in marble, richly colored and accurately painted. Handdle, the majestic god of justice, represented as a paladin with a long sword in his hand, a shield on his back and a helmet with a white feather on top, as well as plate armor and a white cape. There was also the mighty god of the wild seas, Moryak, represented as a mighty merman with a harpoon in hand, with a golden crown on his head and long seaweed hair, and his sister, Arian, represented as a mermaid carved out of ebony, and dyed hair. so that it looked like running water. In addition to several other gods, Skurk, god of thieves, Warloki, god of magic, Bywydriyan, goddess of life, among others, all the major gods of the pantheon represented in that sanctuary for students to exercise their faith. There were wooden benches in rows too, as well as several lit candles that made up the lighting of the place. Arthur sat on one of these benches. He closed his eyes and thought about everything that happened there. He missed his family, his mother and even his sister. "Despite all the worship directed at them, they are mere stone statues." A young man nearby spoke, contempt in his voice. It was a guy with really yellow hair, sticking up like he'd been shocked or something. Arthur didn't say anything, just growled to himself. "What's the matter? Didn't you like me speaking ill of the stone statues?" the boy insisted. "I think you're wrong, that's all." "Why? Have you ever seen divine intervention take place? They could solve many of the world's problems, but remain secluded in their palaces in the stars. That is, if they even exist." "If there are people who believe in these statues, if these statues are capable of empowering people, of giving them hope, if people are following ideals of kindness because of what these statues represent, then why would that be a bad thing?" "So you don't know about the evil that those who speak in the name of the gods practice on account of their faith? So you don't think people stand in inertia waiting for a miracle to fall from the sky while living miserable lives?" "Anyway, I believe in myself, I know I will never let myself down as I will always be strong." "Is it?" That young man smirked, he was about to say something, when a female voice just spoke and interrupting him. "What a boring conversation, honestly!" Arthur and the mysterious young man looked at whoever had said that at the same time. She was a girl. And Arthur knew her. It was Amy, the girl who used to disguise herself as a bard, she wore an aviator jacket and a black T-shirt underneath, tight black pants torn at the knees. What was she doing there? "Who do you think you are?" asked the ruffled-haired boy, standing up with some anger in his voice. "Boy, go graze, go." Amy said scornfully, gesturing for the boy to get away. The mysterious boy looked irritated for a moment, but then he took a deep breath and then smiled. "I understand." He said, "Well, the time hasn't come yet." The guy looked at Arthur, "no tree leaves fall without the gods knowing about; but there are leaves that just got tired of belonging to the sacred tree and plants rise up in an profane and deadly way, waiting for the chance to consume those who claim to fight for one faulty notion of justice." The strange boy turned on his heel and left the sanctuary. Amy started to laugh. "By the gods, what a weird boy!" "Amy, what are you doing here?" Arthur wanted to know. "What do you do in a school, Arthur? I came here to study, of course." She gave Arthur a wink. "Don't worry, I can help you." "Hey, what are you talking about?" "Come on, Arthur, we've been through a lot for you to play dumb with me, haven't we? You're not randomly walking around the academy, you're looking for information, contacts, hey, the fact that there are hidden treasures in this academy is very known." "Hm" Arthur growled thinking, "very well." "Good you know, maybe you're going to have to dole out some smacks around okay?" "But that's even better! I'm the Stone Bull! Some fights will only make things more interesting! I'm strong!" Then Arthur punched his own hand. "That I don't doubt" Amy smiled.
