Saturday 9:45 am
The truth is that Jack hadn't come back for sunscreen at all, the truth is that he really wanted to use the bathroom and not so quickly. Of course he couldn't say it so openly, especially in front of that lady, Elza. Indira had followed him everywhere, Jack wanted to get rid of that creature, come on, he wanted to use the bathroom! Besides, Elza could understand the little sadhvi, who knows what the little creature would tell her? No, Jack had to get rid of her somehow.
"Look, cute little thing, I appreciate that you're worried about me, but seriously, you can't go into our dorm right now...in fact, you won't even want to." Jack spoke to Indira. The little creature started gesturing with its little arms and saying things that seemed incomprehensible to Jack but it was like she was complaining about something."Seriously, I know what danger you think I'm in, but don't worry, really, look, just wait out here for a while, okay? And everything will be fine." Jack then turned to go to the dormitory, but Indira followed him,"No, here, stay here, wait here!" Jack spoke more pointedly, but Indira continued to follow him, "no, seriously, wait here, ok? I'll buy you some candy later, just please wait outside!" Indira seemed to get excited at the idea of getting some candy and did as Jack asked, much to the boy's relief.
When Jack finished what he had to do, about ten minutes later, he saw that the little creature was no longer there. Initially the boy thought she had gone invisible like he used to, but only until he got a notification on his Student Bracelet. It was a message.
-"If you want your little pet, meet me at 3pm, near the Myrddin Square obelisk. Go alone, or he will suffer the consequences."- The message said, with Odaiv's face drawn in a cartoonish but still irritating way. Jack's spine froze, but only until the fire of anger began to burn inside him.
...
Saturday 3pm
Jack couldn't enjoy the lake with his friends, no one seemed to know and he preferred it that way, Indira's fault for being captured by those rogue friends from Odaiv was HIS fault, HE had to solve, HE had to go there, alone.
Jack met at the appointed time that guy with sunglasses and topknot, his name was Paul, he had a cynical and mischievous smile on his mouth.
"Where is she?" Jack growled at the sight of him.
"Easy there, big boy, patience, come on, follow me."
The g**g's lair was beyond the sports field. It was a small wooden building, inside it looked bigger and had some glass windows. Odaiv was sitting on a kind of cheap wooden throne. On the walls were flags with his face drawn.
"Tasteless decor." Jack spoke with contempt.
"Shut up, rotund rookie!" Odaiv roared, "You are in Odaiv's Lair, the headquarters of my club. What you see on these walls is the symbol of our club."
"It doesn't matter! Where's Indira?"
Odaiv laughed and his companions followed suit. There were about twenty bad guys. Jack was alone.
"Calm down, rotund rookie" Odaiv said in a mocking tone, "first you must pay our debt."
"What debt?"
"Well, you hit us. I feel you should be beaten up!" Odaiv's look was psychotic, "a good drubbing from all of us!" Jack prepared for the fight. "Attack!" Odaiv roared. Odaiv's lackeys charged at Jack, who in turn charged at Odaiv. A mass of boys intruded in front of him, Jack punched one and knocked the other down, took a punch in the face and kicked the author of the blow.
"FLAMMING DODGEBALL!" Jack roared as he fired his fireball, which hit some boys like they were bowling pins. Paul appeared, then clenched his fists in attack position.
"MEGA PARALYZING PUNCH!!" He yelled as his hand and forearm glowed, with luminous rings around it.
Jack could dodge it, but another g**g guy pulled a piece of parchment from his pocket and threw it at him. The parchment glowed yellow.
"PARCHMENT MAGIC: NET OF LIGHT!!!" The boy screamed. Jack found himself trapped by some kind of glowing net, and then Paul's punch hit him in the chest. It hadn't been as painful as the other one, but Jack was still thrown back.
Jack tried to get up, but his limbs wouldn't obey him. "What is happening?" he thought desperately.
"You should have paid attention to the name of my attack." Paul chuckled, "You've been paralyzed for a while. Thirty seconds to be exact. For thirty seconds you're ours, and by the way, I can do this attack over and over again!" He laughed out loud.
"I'm finished," Jack thought grimly.
...
Jack took punches and kicks, some students brought clubs, iron bars, pipes and other improvised weapons. It was against the rules to carry daggers, swords, bows, clubs and other types of weapons, but technically, the things they used to hit Jack WERE not weapons. Paul used his move several times, and Jack always gained another thirty seconds of stoppage. Odaiv joined the party and was the one who knocked more willingly.
"This is just the beginning, rotund newbie!" Odaiv yelled in ecstasy, "This is what you get when you mess with us, the Odaiv g**g! We're pretty badass! After that, you sucker, let's go after those little friends of yours, the cocky brat and the i***t with the bleached hair." Odaiv spat. There was a sound of breaking glass. Odaiv looked and saw something that turned him white. Jack, with great effort, managed to turn his head to the side and saw what had frightened Odaiv. Ethan, with Fenrir and Sam on one side, and Arthur and Miguel on the other.
"No need to go look for us, you loser!" Fenrir said with only superficial calm, "WE are the ones who came looking for you!"
"You messed with the wrong i***t, buddy" Miguel said, looking him down.
"Miserable!" Ethan yelled, "We're going to finish you and your whole damn g**g!"
Jack liked his friends there even more. The five jumped into the g**g, and behind them appeared even more reinforcements. "Even Billy is here", Jack thought.
Ethan made his way among Odaiv's companions.
"CROSS LIGHT ATTACK!!!" Jack saw a flash, and heard someone crashing to the ground "CROSS LIGHT ATTACK!!" The sound of Ethan's blow was heard once more. Fenrir jumped, and Jack had the feeling that the irises in his eyes were slightly glowing yellow.
"HARPOON ECLIPSE!!" She screamed as she fired off dark attacks. Apparently, a few more g**g reinforcements showed up there.
"AQUA SHOT!!" Miguel yelled as shots of water shot out of his clenched fist.
"STONE PUNCH!!" It was Arthur, his hand covered in a stone crust.
"WIND BLAST!" Sam yelled as powerful blasts of wind shot out of his hands.
Seraph was there, demonstrating that he was not called "Seraph of the Shadows" by chance, Marcos was an excellent fighter, who knew several martial arts, and showed himself to be a more worthy choice than him. Stanis was tall and broad, and Victoria agile as a sword. Jack felt he could move again. He rose, and his eyes blazed with fury. She glared at Odaiv and then advanced on him. Odaiv looked scared but didn't back down.
"AGGRESSIVE FLAMES!!" Odaiv yelled with his fists pointed at Jack, and then yellow flames went towards the chosen fire. Jack parried the blow with just one hand.
"Fire?" Jack looked at him grimly, and flashed a mocking smile "It's funny how your fire can be so cold."
Odaiv turned purple with anger.
"AGGRESSIVE FLAMES!!" Odaiv shouted in evident fury "AGGRESSIVE FLAMES! AGGRESSIVE FLAMES!" He continued to summon his magic, but it had no effect on Jack.
"DOUBLE FLAMING DODGEBALL!!" Jack yelled as two balls a little bigger than footballs shot out of both of his hands. The blows landed on Odaiv, who was thrown back. He tried to get up, but Jack had already arrived, and beside him, Fenrir. The chosen one of darkness stepped on Odaiv's chest, who moaned in pain.
"So, Jack, what are you doing here?" Fenrir asked.
"They got Indira" Jack replied.
"You fool, why didn't you tell us?" Ethan wanted to know.
"Well… I thought I could solve it myself… I didn't want to worry you. It was my problem! It was my mistake!"
Fenrir punched his friend in the arm.
"i***t. I think you worried a lot more with that reckless attitude of yours" He chuckled "yeah, I probably would have told you off first and said 'you just screw up' but I'd help you" he looked at back to where the others were "WE would help you. We're friends, aren't we? At least that's what I think. If I fall back down, You're gonna help me back up again, that's what a song says."
Jack felt his eyes water, but he held on.
"Thanks guys! Thanks guys, all of you!" Jack's eyes felt very wet. Fenrir laughed.
"Hey look, I'm the water chosen one, but I have little tolerance for water running out of other people's eyes, so come on, okay?" Miguel spoke.
"Yeah," Sam agreed, "if it was going to be embarrassing like that, I'd better leave you here, getting beaten up."
But Jack knew they didn't REALLY mean it, they just didn't want to admit it.
"Alright guys, stop being silly." Said Fenrir he then looked at Odaiv, who still lay under his foot. "So… where's our guys pet, huh?" He pressed his foot tighter against Odaiv's chest, who gave a soft cry and a growl.
"It's… back there" Odaiv replied moaning.
"Ok" Fenrir got off the boy, who barely got up and was grabbed by Arthur.
"I think it better not happen again" Arthur spoke in a threatening tone "or then..." He saw a piece of wood on the floor and stepped on it, crushing it. Odaiv seemed to get the message and shook his head frantically. Jack went to the back. Behind the “throne” of Odaiv was a trapdoor that when opened revealed a small pantry. There was Indira, peacefully asleep. The little creature woke up when Jack opened the trapdoor and wrapped itself around Jack's neck and shoulder. When everyone left Odaiv's Lair, the place began to collapse. Odaiv looked ready to cry, but just looked at Jack and his friends.
"I recognize how strong you guys are." He said composing himself and Jack noticed the slightest dignity in that guy, "I ask you to accept our apologies, and know that whenever you need help, all the power of my club will be yours, we don't need to be enemies anymore." He said this, looked at his subordinates and gestured for them to follow him. So he withdrew.
...
Saturday, around 9:45 pm
Fenrir had one of his trouser legs up, sitting up, as he peeled away a scab that had been there for some time. Maybe he have it in the fight against the goblins, or against this Aita, or… there were so many fights. Jack was still quite sore, but he had accompanied Fenrir to this almost high isolated place with cold winds. Fenrir removed the scab, when a girl pretty pale appeared
"Hello Katy" Fenrir greeted.
"I don't know why you like this place so much, but here you go" Katy tossed Jack an object, a small bottle of red liquid, "here, drink this, you'll feel better. It's a health potion."
"I like it here because it's quiet and nice." Fenrir said, they were on the roof of the castle, where the towers ended, and you could see the cone-shaped ones closer. It was possible to get there by stairs, and everyone could go, but it was a dark and ominous place. Fenrir got up and walked to the breastplates. He put his hands on the tower merlons. "Odaiv said that the power of his club is in our favor."
"That's not a big deal, like I said, his club is one of the most pathetic in the academy, it's not even an official club."
"Official club?"
"Yes. Official clubs are those that have authorization from the school authorities. For example, the Music Club, the Journalism Club, and of course the Student Council. All other clubs are called clandestine or worse, gangs. Mine. club is one of those.
"Yes. Fenrir I have to warn you not to mess with members of the most powerful clubs, or the most powerful gangs, whatever you want to call it. Don't mess with the IRON FIST, the PSYCHO GHOULS, the EAST DEVILS, or the CRAZED COYOTES, or the YAMPIRES, which is mine, neither with the BLUE OGRES. And most of all, Fenrir, don't mess with the HELL'S DOGS. They are considered the strongest and most dangerous of the unofficial clubs. It is good that you learn to recognize the symbols they proudly wear, jackets, brooches or bandanas."
Fenrir smiled in that slow, cold wind. Jack wondered what was going on in his friend's crazy head.
"That's interesting. Maybe I should create a club strong enough to go head-to-head with them. No, maybe I should create a stronger one than theirs."
So here was the answer to what was going on in Fenrir's crazy head, Jack thought the purpose of this, however, to Jack was still a mystery.
