Ancient Crystals - (Sam)

1143 Words
Things were much stranger than Sam could have imagined, the air of that old temple was different, they didn't seem to be anymore... in their world. Yes, for sure, they were no longer in the ordinary world. In the skies, two moons rose in a sky in the early evening. The others stared at the crystals, as if attracted by a strange magnetism towards them. "The crystals of power. They were called Kerds, which belonged to the older generations of Sweks Hyewds" said Gwendy. "this is the only chance for you to save yourselves and the camp, pick up the crystals and activate their powers" the girl smiled, "but there is a catch. These crystals belonged to valuable ancient fighters. If the crystals do not find you worthy, you will be consumed by the energies they contain, meaning you will either die or be trapped forever inside the crystals." "Okay, maybe I believe it all," Fenrir said, "but why us?" "I don't know, maybe the crystals could go with a bunch of losers and weirdos." Gwendy giggled. "Yoshi! That's it, that's it, I knew it!" Jack exclaimed very enthusiastically "my dream, I knew. it's time for my power!" Without waiting another second, Jack impulsively picked up one of the crystals. "Jack, wait!..." Ethan appealed, but it was too late. Jack was holding the crystal that was starting to stop being opaque to acquire some luminosity and color, a red and orange glow began to appear in the crystal and a symbol appeared in the center of the orb, a symbol that represented fire. The flames blazed around Jack for a few seconds before they held back in his palm, to the orb. "Wow!" Exclaimed Gwendy, giggling, clapping her hands as if excited "the crystal seems to like you, big boy. Congratulations Jack, under the dragon totem you are the newest chosen one of fire!" Jack looked down at his hands, a proud smile on his face. "No, it can't be, it's impossible!" Arthur was dumbfounded. "Fat-Jack?! Seriously?! No, if he did, then I will be chosen too!" Without further ado, Arthur took a crystal too. The same process started to repeat itself, but a green color appeared in Arthur's crystal, and suddenly the boy became a stone statue completely. Just for a moment later, the stone crust crumbled, revealing a proud Arthur and now with ancient power in hand. "Very good, what are others waiting for? Time is passing, they must have felt the power radiate, soon they will be here". Gwendy warned. "They who?" Sam asked. "Those from whom you guys must defend yourselves". "Alright folks, it looks like we have no choice", Ethan spoke. " At three, we'll all get one of the crystals. One... two... three!" Sam and the others did as Ethan asked. Sam began to feel a strange energy invade his body. He started to feel lighter, stronger and much more powerful. It was actually a very pleasant feeling, the wind seemed to sing his name, and the boy found himself surrounded by air currents. He rose into the air, floating for a few seconds, before landing on the ground again, feeling like someone else, someone stronger. "Wow! That's great!" He thought "I feel like... a hero or something like that". "There's not much more time to train, they've arrived" warned Gwendy. Sam saw some creatures appearing surrounding them, looked like some kind of hybrid lizard man. "Troglodytes. Go there, finish them off!" The girl screamed in encouragement. "Yoshi! It's time to show why I'm worthy!" Jack yelled, looking excited, and went up, to attack. Sam didn't have much time to observe his friend's performance. One of the creatures lunged at him with its sharp claws. The boy dodged the attack as he never imagined he could do, so that's what this power could do, he thought. "This and much more, young man" the voices that seemed to be carried by the wind told him in his ear. Apparently only he heard them. "Who is it?" Sam asked to himself while still dodging the blows. "The ancient possessors of the wind crystal, take our advice." "Yes, I will take the advice of the sages, so." "Stop dodging and attack!" Sam again dodged one of the creature's attacks, but another of the troglodytes came from behind and nearly hit him. The young man followed the advice and attacked the creature with a punch to the middle of the stomach. The troglodyte had a very tough skin. Sam could feel it. If he hadn't gained that power moments ago, his hand would have been raw. The foul smell of the monster filled his nostrils and made him nauseous, "he stinks more than Arthur's armpits", he thought. Sam continued the attack, one punch, two punches. The creature moaned but didn't budge. The other one of the monsters took advantage of that and tried to hit Sam, but the boy quickly jumped back in a good dodge. "I'm stronger now than before, right, but these monsters' skin is tough, it's going to be hard, I'm going to need a handful of blows", Sam thought to himself. "You are forgetting something important, newbie" the voices of the wind said, "your magic power. Think of a form for your power, think of a name, shout it out loud and conjure up the form you thought." "A form? What kind? A Rasengan-type wind ball? No, that would be plagiarism..." more monster claw attacks, more dodges by Sam. "Well, I don't know but... here it goes!" Sam concentrated the energy of the winds in his right fist and in the next moment he poured all the accumulated power against the monster "WIND BLAST!!!" a jet of wind emerged from the boy's fist, hitting the creature's chest, which was thrown back until it crashed into a pillar, which consequently broke and fell on top of the already unconscious creature, crushing it. The other troglodyte came running to attack Sam, but a stone hand hit the creature's temple with a hollow sound. The monster fell with half of his face smashed and there was Arthur, with his hands raised like a boxing champion, with a smile on his face and celebrating. "Yeah, that's it, four creatures! Has anyone killed more than me? No? That's it, I'm the champion, see that, Fat-Jack?" "Arthur, this wasn't a competition, it was a cooperation" Gwendy scolded the boy. "I brought up two for each of you for a reason." "Wait, wait, wait, did I hear you right?" Asked Miguel. " You brought these creatures here?" "Oops" Gwendy smirked and stuck out her tongue "no more reasons to lie, I mean yes, it was a test." "Why? And how?" "Because I am the goddess represented in that statue."
