The Headquarters of Interdimensional Guardians - (Ethan)

2456 Words
In a special hall of Gwendy's mansion, Lyan opened a magic portal in a kind of magic circle that was on the wall. "I was wondering, what's the difference between a portal, an ephemeral window and a perennial gate?" Miguel asked. "Portals are made through magic to connect a distant point to another, but a portal can never be opened to another dimension, that is, you cannot go to Fantastinen through a portal. Ephemeral Windows are momentary places in another world, they disappear only after a while, for example, if you are in Fantastinen and an Ephemeral Window arises from some country on Earth, I don't know, in America for example, you will be in America, it's like a mixture of the two worlds in which one of them excelled, like a dish of food where a certain condiment excels in flavor. After the window closes, you go back to where you were before, meaning you can't have a complete journey through this phenomenon. Finally, Perennial Gates, they alone are the means to go to the other world definitively, and these are protected by the Order of Interdimensional Guardians, they prevent... unwanted visitors in both worlds. We're heading to their base now." Lyan explained. "Amazing, she's not only beautiful, she's also very smart!" Ethan praised but was ignored. "Yoshi! I can't wait to see this amazing Order base!" Jack exclaimed excitedly, but when they walked through the portal they saw nothing but a small shop, which left Jack with a priceless face of disappointment. It was an almost desert place they were. There was a simple little shop nearby and it was the only building they saw for miles, and the sign only read: Pawn Shop. "Yes Jack, it's really amazing!" Sam said wryly. It was an almost desert place they were. Gwen was instantly gone and with her Lyan. There was a simple little shop nearby and it was the only building they saw for miles, and the sign only read: Convenience Store. "That brat left us alone again!" Arthur growled and his voice echoed across the desert. "No need to fear, I will take you where you have to go." Said a girl appearing there almost suddenly. She was tall and had blond hair cut just below her ear, her eyes were blue and cold, her face was quite serious. She wore a well-polished steel breastplate, a blue knee-length skirt and carried a sword, on her hands she had gauntlets, on her feet leather boots and steel greaves around her calves. She also wore a blue traveling cape over all this apparatus, held by a steel brooch with a symbol Ethan couldn't quite make out, the sun's glare reflected there and on the armor so it was hard to see. For some reason, she reminded Ethan of someone… "I'm Alexia and I'm going to guide you where you should go. Follow me." Ethan ran until he was side by side with the girl. "When I saw the sun shine off your shining armor and gild your hair even more, I knew that something inside of me had changed forever." The chosen one of the light spoke to the girl, but in the next moment he regretted it... that girl didn't seem to be someone to say such things. In the next moment, Ethan was even more surprised. She looked at him a little sideways and smiled! "My sister told me about you." Alexia said. "Y...your sister? You say..." "Yeah, Aretha Artume, it's my younger sister." "I knew such a pretty face couldn't be a coincidence." Ethan said. They then headed to the convenience store. ... When they entered, Ethan saw that there was only one attendant, a bored-looking young man reading a comic book. He cast a bored look at the group. "Oh hello Alexia." he said in a nasal voice. "And... others." "Hello attendant" Alexia greeted "they're with me." "Yeah, I noticed…" he yawned then, still not looking at them. "Dude, did you hear that?" Ethan heard Fenrir whisper in Jack's ear. "The guy is such an NPC that she called him an attendant. Attendant! He doesn't even have a proper name!" Jack laughed and at that moment the guy on the counter moved with amazing speed, throwing something with his own hand and whatever he had thrown, it scraped past Jack and Sam. The two friends were wide-eyed. Looking back, Ethan saw a pen stuck in a soda bottle so neatly that it didn't leak a single drop. "I don't like to be called that either, I have a name." I speak to the attendant as if nothing had happened, going back to reading his comic. "It may not look like it" Alexia smiled "but this guy is also a Guardian, however, as he is responsible for guarding the portal, and as you can see the portal is in a simple convenience store, he has been codenamed the Attendant." "Can't blame us, that's a ridiculous code name" Sam explained with a shrug. Ethan wouldn't give a damn for the guy, he was a dull-eyed guy, a huge aquiline nose, his hair was a ridiculous mullet, he had a wispy mustache, acne, and looked twenty at best. "I think I would be annoyed too." Ethan heard Jack speaking, and it was as if he held back a laugh. "I mean, being a Guardian and all that to earn the nickname the Attendant?" He then laughed and couldn't help himself. "I mean, it must be pretty annoying." The guy listened again and glared at the boy. "Naughty little fellows these newbies huh, Alexia?" He said already grumpy. Ethan's friends snickered and Alexia shot him a disapproving look. "Well, anyway, we're passing. You can get on with your super urgent business." Alexia motioned for the boys to follow her, then went to a part of the establishment where there was a small old door. On it, there was a small sign indicating that it was a unisex bathroom and from what Ethan could see, it didn't look very hygienic. The girl then opened the door. Behind it, there wasn't a bathroom or anything like that, but a huge castle-style building, with lots of people (and other things) moving around. "Welcome to the headquarters of the Order of Dimensional Guardians!" "Yoshi! That's what I was talking about!" Jack said excitedly. As the boys followed, Alexia was saying several things about such an order. The founding year, old stories and things Ethan paid no attention to, being impressed by everything he saw. He was watching experiment rooms, warriors training, strange beings and people using magic. The place was full and Ethan hardly knew where to look. They were now in a wide corridor, with rectangular stone columns, with torches attached to them, the floor was tiled with stones and formed patterns resembling six-pointed stars, on the walls there were epic images in relief, showing battles, fantastic beings or perhaps gods . He was paying attention to a paladin painting, when he heard a strange noise, as if hooves were running fast. Ethan noticed that something strange was heading towards his friend, Jack. "Jack, watch out!" Ethan warned. It was a creature about the size of a motorcycle, with the appearance of a boar and large tusks, advancing against him. Jack dodged by jumping to the side, but the boar didn't give up and snorted, scratching his feet on the ground as he prepared for another charge. He was already preparing the flames in his hands, when Ethan saw a figure leap at the creature and strike it in the head. All it took was one stroke of the stick to make the big boar topple to the side. A girl stood up, looking twelve years old, smart eyes, smirk, cropped short blue hair. She held a staff, wore an open white coat, a kitten-print T-shirt, black gym shorts, and old sneakers. "You dodge well," she said to Jack. "For someone your... size." "W-what?..." "Victoria of the Wind Blades, Alexia Artume." The girl spoke interrupting Jack, smiling at Alexia and Victoria mischievously. Victoria? When had she gotten there? Ethan hadn't even noticed. "And some… newbies? Doesn't seem like a big deal to me, who knows I shouldn't have let the monster test you guys?" "Look if you're really into it, just get out of the way." Fenrir said with a bored look. He pointed towards where the Boar was. "The creature is still standing." "W-what are you talking about?" The girl gritted her teeth and turned just as the monster lunged at her. Not being able to do much, she blocked it with the staff, but was thrown back by the force of the impact. Seeing the situation, Victoria moved her right hand vertically and a powerful gust of wind left of the flow, heading towards the monster, however, a blow from someone mysterious on the ground, which raised earth and dust prevented the girl's attack from reaching to the original recipient. When the dust settled, another girl emerged. This one looked about sixteen years old, long black hair, big bust, long legs, wearing a white sleeveless T-shirt and shorts similar to the other one, even in color, on her feet, wore dark red leather high boots and in her hands, gloves in the same color, but probably a different material. "Wow! It must be my lucky day, there are so many hot girls!" Ethan thought. "You weren't going to chop the poor animal to shreds with your blasts of air, were you, wind blades girl?" Asked the mysterious girl. Suddenly she turned and slashed with surprising force at the boar, which was knocked away until it crashed into the wall. She stepped forward once more and took a few more blows to the monster, who just squeaked in pain until he finally collapsed in a faint. Ethan was stunned and by the faces of his friends, so were they (the only thing left to know was the way the girl fought or the girl herself). "Looks like you let your guard down, huh, Yumi?" She teased the girl with the staff, who came towards her with her hands behind her back and a grimace of pain. "Shut up!" The one with the staff scolded, pouting irritably. The bigger girl sighed with a smile and then smoothed her hair with her right hand. Ethan thought she was very beautiful. It was then that she looked at him and smiled. "Whoa, maybe…maybe she's flirting with me!" thought the excited boy, but was soon disappointed. "Alexia, Victoria!" He greeted the girls and Ethan realized they were right behind him, so the smile hadn't been for him. He felt like an i***t. She was about to say something, but a small guy came running down the hall towards them, stammering hurriedly apologies while holding a pointy hat on his head. He looked like a boy of eleven years old at most, wearing a black cape over dress clothes, a white T-shirt and black pants differing from its small body, the feet of that runt were huge and hairy.. The older girl smiled at him and reassured him. "Who is it?" Ethan asked Victoria as he took a comb from his pocket and adjusted his pompadour. "Oh, his name is…" "No, not the brat, the girl." The girl seemed to listen and looked at Ethan and the group, smiling sympathetically. "Oh, I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself!" She slapped her forehead as if calling herself a fool. "I'm Hana Aiko, and you guys are?…" Ethan put the comb again in his pocket, took the front and the girl's hands as well. "Ethan Celestian, ma'am." He said and would, perhaps, kiss her hands, but the small girl pointed the staff at the neck of the chosen one of the light. "Don't think you have a chance with her, clown!" Ethan made a startled face and swallowed hard. Hana laughed. "Yumi, be polite and introduce yourself." She said. The smaller girl lowered her staff but was still pouting like a tantrum. "Yumi." She spoke without looking at them directly. Hana gave him a look of friendly disapproval (does that exist?). The smaller girl gritted her teeth and looked at them. "Yumi Aiko. Nice to meet you." Something told Ethan she hadn't been honest with her words. Nearby, the chosen one noticed that the little boy was doing some kind of magic that shrunk the boar to the size of a miniature and then kept it in a small box. "What was that?" Miguel wanted to know. "Oh." The little boy smiled gently. "Well, I'm sorry again for the inconvenience. I was demonstrating my experiment to Aiko and Yumi, when one of the guinea pigs ended up losing control and running around wanting to attack someone. Luckily no one got hurt. Anyway, Nice to meet you, I'm Ander Hornfoot, how about you? Oh, sure, except for the philanderer over there, Ethan.” He pointed to the light's chosen one, but he seemed without malice. Hana was still smiling and moving closer. "Tell me Alexia, Victoria, who are our new friends?" Jack took two steps forward. "I am Jack Zaek, the chosen one of fire!" And he pointed his thumb at his chest, smiling confidently. Everyone looked at him strangely. "Chosen one of fire? What are you talking about?" "One of the Six Warriors!" Jack replied with conviction. "The Fire Warrior!" Hana was amused, Yumi sneered and Ander smiled sheepishly. "You are funny, Jack." Hana finally said after laughing. "I don't get the joke." "You are the joke." Fenrir spoke, coming closer. His gaze seemed to disapprove of the strangers' attitude. "They are doubting and mocking you." "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." Hana smiled gently apologetically. "I mean… it's just…" "Is it because he's fat?" Arthur asked suspiciously. "No, that's not it. It's just that the chosen ones… well… you're just a rookie. There were candidates for the Kerds and you weren't one of them, Jack." "Yeah, look, I don't understand any of this" Jack replied "I'm really just a newbie and I don't understand how things work around here, but I'm telling the truth when I say I'm one of the six." "Shut up, Jack!" Fenrir chided. "Why did you say that? Stop thinking yourself so much and being so arrogant! Haven't you learned that none of them think we're worthy of this position?" "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend. Well, but in that case..." Hana smirked, "in that case, fight me, Jack" She showed her clenched fist in the boy's direction. "Let's see if you are worthy to claim such a title for yourself."
