Auroras POV
You're alright, sweetheart." Tears were streaming down my face as sam gave me a soothing back rub. "You are flawless; you are neither ugly nor strange. Your cuteness intimidates the other pack kids, who are all simply stuck-up brats."
I responded with a whimper, nestling into his wide shoulder as he took my eight-year-old self within. He seated me at the tiny kitchen table and pointed out that the kitchen was directly accessible from the front door.

"Am I?" A silent inquiry crossed my mind: "No one seems to act like that."
"You are to me, and when you grow older your mate will treat you like the queen you are suppose to be." With a smile, he gave me a reassuring squeeze.
"But you already treat me like a princess," I squeeze in return, savouring every moment spent with my one true friend.
I understand, but I won't always be around. Sooner or later, I shall leave you.
I instantly felt really gloomy.
"Y-you cannot leave me. "No one else will care for me." I cried, and tears stained his grey shirt as I held to him tighter.
"I know I know." He simply massaged my back, saying nothing else.
