As secrets from Serena’s past resurface, enemies close in, and obsession turns violent, their connection becomes more than forbidden it becomes dangerous.

Because falling in love with a billionaire like Damian doesn’t come with protection.

It comes with enemies, power, tricks, obsession and a love that can burn them both.

Chapter one: The Interview
The sharp sound of the alarm echoed through the small room, jolting Serena awake. She groaned, stretching out a hand to silence the noise. "Ugh, just five more minute " she mumbled, her voice thick with sleep. But as her gaze flickered to the clock, her eyes widened in horror. 7:00 AM. She stayed up all night researching about the Blackwood, the CEO and also what to expect from the interview. "Oh my God!" she shrieked, throwing the duvet across the room. She scrambled out of bed, nearly tripping over her own feet as she dashed into the bathroom. Today was the day, the final interview at Blackwood Corporation, the most prestigious company in the city. And she was late. Serena’s life had been a storm ever since she relocated to the state. Leaving behind everything she had ever known in Italy had been a painful but necessary decision after her mother’s death. Now, she was alone, fighting to survive in a world that didn’t care if she sank or swam. Her fingers fumbled with the buttons of her blouse as she muttered to herself, "I'm so stupid! How could I wake up late for this? Rent, food, bills, who will pay them if I don’t get this job?" She grabbed her bag and rushed out of her tiny apartment, her heart pounding. Fate, however, seemed to be against her. She missed the bus. "Just great!" she groaned, her heels clicking furiously against the pavement as she power walked down the street. With no other option, she decided to trek, praying for a miracle. As if answering her prayers, though in the worst way possible, a sleek black Mercedes-Benz speed past her, splashing dirty water all over her blouse fortunately for her she wasn't putting on a white blouse which prevents the stain from being noticeable. Serena gasped, freezing in place as she looked down at her ruined outfit. A red hot fury burned through her veins. Without thinking, she grabbed a stone and threw it at the car, her aim shockingly accurate. A loud crack echoed through the street as the side mirror shattered. The car came to a halt. Serena’s heart dropped. s**t. She hadn’t actually expected to hit it. The driver’s door swung open, and out stepped a man. Tall, Broad shouldered. An aura of raw power surrounded him. His sharp jawline and piercing eyes made him impossibly handsome, but his presence was nothing short of intimidating. Serena’s face paled. She hadn’t just hit anyone’s car. A deep, ice-cold voice snapped her out of her trance. "Have you lost your damn mind?" Her initial panic was quickly replaced by anger. Who did he think he was, nearly drowning her in dirty water and then acting like she was the problem? She squared her shoulders. "Who the hell do you think you are? Get lost, you arrogant jerk!" His brows lifted slightly, as if amused by her speaking back at him . But the amusement was gone in a flash, replaced by a stormy expression that sent a shiver down her spine. Without another word, he turned and got back into his car, speeding away. Serena exhaled heavily, trying to shake off the encounter she continued her journey. When she finally arrived at Blackwood Corporation, her breath hitched. The towering skyscraper, with its sleek glass exterior, was breathtaking. Stepping inside, she was immediately greeted by a cold, professional atmosphere that screamed power and prestige. She approached the receptionist. "Good morning, I’m here for the interview." The woman barely glanced at her before pointing toward the elevator. "Top floor." Serena swallowed hard and stepped inside, her nerves tightening with each floor she passed. When the doors finally opened, she stepped into a luxurious office space. Unware of what to do she stayed at the entrance of the door scanning the room until her eyes meet with a tall, broad shoulder man facing the window and his back view was the only thing she could see. She cleared her throat. "Good morning, sir. I’m here for the interview." The man didn’t respond. Instead, he tilted his head toward the door, silently instructing her to enter. Confused but eager to make a good impression, Serena stepped inside. The high backed chair behind the desk was facing away from her, covering the person seated in it. "Good afternoon" "Sit." The deep, familiar voice made her stomach drop. No. It couldn't be. The chair slowly turned around. Serena’s heart stopped. Her breath hitched as she locked eyes with the very same man she had insulted and attacked just an hour ago. Damian Blackwood. The man who is said to be the richest man in America. "The car man" she whispered, horrified. His is lips curled into a slow, dangerous smirk. "Yes the car man. Or should I say, your new boss?" Serena swallowed hard, but before she could react, Damian stood up. His presence suffocated the air around her as he stalked toward her, each step calculated, deliberate. She instinctively stepped back, but within seconds, her back hit the wall. Before she could process what was happening, his strong arms pinned her in place. His breath was warm against her skin as he leaned in, his fingers grazing the strands of her hair. "You broke my car," he murmured, his voice laced with something dark. Serena’s breath hitched. Her mind screamed at her to move, but her body betrayed her. A strange heat pooled in her stomach, traveling lower, leaving her lightheaded. Then, just as suddenly, he pulled away, leaving her breathless and trembling. His voice cut through the air like a blade. "You're hired as my personal Assistance . Your job starts immediately." Serena blinked struggling to catch up. What just happened. Then it hit her. The man she had cursed out the man whose car she had destroyed Was now her boss. Her worst nightmare had just become her reality. Damian smirked, as if reading her thoughts. "Buckle up, little assistant. You’re in for a long ride." Serena barely held back a groan. She was so, so screwed. Earlier that day, after Damina encountered a hot- headed girl who hit his car, he stormed into his office with his vein threatening to come out of his body, who could have dared to talk back at Damina Blackwood. His eyes flicked to the CCTV camera in his office, his eyes flicked in doubt and luck as he sees the girl who crossed his path working directly into his office area. What a fortunate co-incident he taught to himself. The moment Damina knew she was coming for an interview he knew she was going to be hired. If not for anything but for his revenge.
