“She’s gone,” The nurse stammered, her voice trembling as she stood before Damian. His heart stopped. He stormed into Serena’s room, only to find the hospital bed empty. Panic surged through the halls as nurses and doctors scrambled, shouting over each other. No one had answers. The air turned thick with chaos. Damian’s eyes zoned in on the nurse trembling before him serena’s assigned caregiver. “Where is she?” His voice was low, but dangerously cold. “I ..I don’t know,” the nurse stuttered, tears forming in her eyes. “I only went to the toilet… I was gone for just two minutes.” Two minutes, That was all it took. Damian’s fists clenched, his jaw tightening with fury. He didn’t have time to scold her every second wasted meant Serena was in more danger. Without another word, he spun around. “Get the CCTV footage. Now!” He whipped out his phone and called Alex. “She’s gone. I need Benita’s location, track her now.” Within moments, a hospital security guard ran over, holding a tablet with the CCTV footage loaded. Damian snatched it from his hands. On screen, a massive man in dark clothing wheeled Serena out of her room. Her head was limp. Her body unmoving. The man pushed her into a black van parked outside the emergency exit before driving off. Damian’s entire body trembled with rage. His eyes glowed with murderous intent. He’d tear down cities to get her back. Minutes later, his phone buzzed. A message from Alex lit up the screen: “Warehouse near the old harbor, sending coordinates now.” Without hesitation, Damian floored the gas pedal. Serena stirred. Her eyelids fluttered open, blurry vision adjusting to the dim, dusty lighting above her. A foul stench filled the air, and the cold cement beneath her cheek sent a jolt down her spine. “Is, this heaven?” she whispered weakly. A low, raspy voice broke through the silence. “You wish, little bitch.” Serena’s body stiffened. This wasn’t heaven. It was hell. She was tied up, wrists bound tight with rope. Her back ached. She tried to move, but her strength was nearly gone. A sharp pain suddenly seared across her back. A whip. She screamed, her voice echoing through the warehouse. The footsteps approached slowly, Heavy, Confident, Cruel, dangerous. Serena looked up and her blood ran cold. Benita. Wearing a blood-red dress, lips curved into a devilish smile, Benita crouched beside her. “Poor little Serena. Did you really think you could take my Damian away from me?” “Wha” Serena tried to speak, but another slap silenced her. “You don’t belong in his world,” Benita hissed. “You’re a stray. A street rat. But don’t don't worry, your pathetic story ends here.” Behind Benita stood the huge man Ruspy. A hired hitman. His grin was almost as terrifying as hers. Serena’s heart pounded as she closed her eyes. Maybe this was it. Maybe she will finally see her mom Maybe this was how it ended. Suddenly, A loud Bang. The warehouse door opened, Benita and Ruspy jumped, eyes wide with panic. “How did they find us?!” Benita shrieked. “s**t!” Ruspy shouted, grabbing for a metal rod. From the smoke, Damian emerged, rage burning in his eyes, gun in hand. Alex was right behind him. “Serena!” Damian’s voice was raw with desperation as he sprinted toward her. Ruspy lunged, but Alex tackled him mid air, "come here scumbag" Alex shouted while slamming him into the ground. Damian dropped to his knees beside Serena and quickly cut her loose. She was pale, bruised, bleeding but alive. “Damian…” she croaked, tears spilling from her eyes. He pulled her into his arms, lifting her like she was made of glass. “I’ve got you. You’re safe now.” Her voice broke as she whispered, “Why why did you come for me?” Damian looked into her eyes, filled with pain, fear, and so much fragility. His thumb brushed a tear from her cheek. “Because I can’t•••• before Damina could complete his sentence, a loud noice erupted. CRACK! A gunshot ripped through the air. Damian froze, Alex spun around, pointing his gun. Standing on a pile of crates, Benita held a pistol, arm shaking wildly. “I won’t miss next time!” she screamed, her mascara running down her face. Serena clung to Damian’s shirt, trembling. Alex aimed at her, finger on the trigger, waiting for the go. “Put the gun down, Benita!” Alex barked. “Stay away from him!” she screamed back. “He’s mine! He’s always been mine!” Damian didn’t flinch. His hand gripped Serena tighter. His voice was cold, calm, lethal. “Touch her again and I’ll make sure you never see daylight again.” Benita’s finger twitched on the trigger. And then Another gunshot, Everything stopped. Someone was hit. But who?
