*Axle's POV*
About 5 minutes later, the Principal comes out and calls me in. When he notices Six following me, he says, “Miss Keller, this is a private meeting.”
“I have some important information regarding the situation that I think you need to hear, so I would like to accompany Axle if that’s okay with you.”
He looks between us briefly and then just nods. I suddenly find myself glad she stayed. When we go in Six starts by explaining the whole situation, and at the end, Mr. Collins says, “Well, it does seem as though your intentions were good, however, I cannot condone that kind of violence. I’m still going to have to suspend you, but just for the remainder of the week. You can come back on Monday. And as for you, Miss Keller, it seems like you’ve had quite the stressful morning, so you may be excused from the rest of your classes this afternoon if you wish.”
She nods and says, “Thank you, Mr.Collins.” We get up to leave and when we reach the main hallway I remember that Jameson drove this morning, “s**t,” I murmur. The walk isn’t that long but I just want to go home.
“What? 4 days isn’t that bad.”
“No, it’s not that. Jameson drove this morning so I have to walk home.”
She rolls her eyes and says, “Don’t be ridiculous, I’ll drive you.”
I don’t protest and I follow her out to the parking lot and when she unlocks a black WRX, I’m a bit surprised. “This is what you drive?”
“Yes. Is that a problem?”
“No, not at all. I’m just surprised that you would pick this.”
“I didn’t pick it.” I give her a confused look and she says, “It’s a long story. Don’t ask, because I’m not going to tell you.”
I get in her car and give her directions to my house, and when we arrive, she pulls up at the curb and mine is the only car in the driveway so I know nobody is home.
“Do you wanna come in for a bit?”
She hesitates for a second before nodding. When we go inside I ask her if she wants a beer and she replies, “First, you’re going to let me take care of your hand and face. Where do you keep your first aid kit?”
“Upstairs bathroom.” I lead her there and she instructs me to sit on the counter while she rifles through the kit. She puts something on a cloth and comes to stand between my legs.
“This will probably hurt,” she says before she starts dabbing the split skin on my cheek with the cloth. I hold very still and watch the concentration on her face as she cleans mine. Her eyebrows pull together ever so slightly, and she bites her bottom lip a bit. She takes out little plastic strips and uses them to close the cut.
“Well, that’s as good as that’s gonna get. I don’t think it should scar if you leave the strips on for a few days. Now give me your hand.” She steps back a bit and takes my hand gently before cleaning away all the blood. She then applies some antibiotic cream, places a white gauze pad over my knuckles and then wraps gauze around it.
“Does that feel okay or is it too tight?” She asks, looking up into my eyes.
“It’s perfect, thank you.” I say and then lean down and kiss her gently. She places her hands on my thighs as mine wrap around her, pulling her closer to me. She pulls back and says, “I think you promised me a beer earlier.”
I smile and hop down from the counter and lead her back downstairs. I grab us each a beer from the fridge and then bring her to the couch in the living room.
She sits cross legged on the couch and then points at the xbox and says, “What games do you have?”
“What game do you want?”
“Do you have call of duty?”
“You want to play call of duty? Seriously?” She nods. “Which one?”
“Um, doesn’t matter. I guess whichever one we can play split screen online.” I put in modern warfare 3 and hand her a controller.
“It’s been a while since I played so promise you won’t judge me,” she says.
“I promise,” I tell her. We join a lobby and within a few minutes it’s clear that she’s good at this. When the round ends, we’re the top 2 on our team. “Do you play this at home?” I ask her.
“Um, no, I don’t have an xbox. I used to play with my ex all the time, which is why it’s been a while.” I feel a twinge of jealousy but I let it go. I mean, look at her, of course she’s been with other guys. I don’t answer her because the next game starts.
After a few rounds, we’ve both finished our beers so I pause the game and ask if she wants another one which she refuses because she has to drive. I go grab one for me and when I sit back down on the couch, I pull her into my lap so that she’s straddling me. “You know, watching you playing video games and drinking beer with me is making it impossible to resist you.”
She leans in and whispers “Then don’t,” and kisses me. I pull her in closer as our tongues tangle together and she grinds against me. Just as I slip my hand under her shirt, I hear a voice coming fromm the entrance.
“Hey Axle, you home? Who’s car is- OH s**t!” Jameson says as Six jumps off of me, sitting back on the couch.
He looks between us and says, “I should’ve guessed that was your car.”
“Yeah, um, I should probably go actually, I have to, um, I have somewhere to be,” she tells me, her cheeks an adorable shade of pink as she stands up.
I walk her to the door and she says, “Right, so I guess I’ll see you next Monday then?”
“Yeah, I guess so.”
When the door closes, Jameson raises an eyebrow at me and says, "So I was going to ask how you were doing after I heard about the fight at school today, but clearly you're doing just fine."
"I was doing fine until you barged in here."
"I live here too you know. And if you wanted some privacy, your bedroom is that way," he says pointing at the stairs.
"Thanks for the tip," I say and then smack him on the back of the head and run up to my room.
