CHAPTER SIX

Kaiyo blinked twice, as if freed from a hypnotic trance. Confusion was written all over his face. "Huh? What the hell? Where am I?" "Welcome back Kay." All it took was a moment. It was as if scales had fallen off from his eyes, resorting his memoires. Immediately he lunged for Virgo, but the man caught his arms. It was as if he was expecting that. "You bastard, what did you do to me? What did you do to me???" It took all of Virgo's strength to restrain Kaiyo, and get him back in his seat. He slapped an invisible handcuff on his wrists. "Let go of me, let go of me. Motherf___r, you stole my powers. I trusted you and you stole my powers. Give it back. Give it back you thief." "Calm down Kay. I need your help." Virgo's voice was calm and commanding. "Why the f**k would I help you?? You're a motherf___ing bastard. "Calm the f**k down and answer my question. That orb that gave you your abilities. Where did you keep it?" "Man, I don't know what you're talking about, get me out of here. I should never have trusted you." Kaiyo was screaming and yelling, all the while still squirming and struggling to get out of his bonds. "Don't make this harder than it has to be man, just tell me where it is." "f**k you and your stupid question." "Fine. I guess you're not ready to help me then. I'll keep looking myself. Nice chat by the way." "If I get out of these things I'll..." Virgo stood up from the chair and waved his hand, stopping Kaiyo mid sentence and knocking him out cold. His wrist glowed for a moment and he winced at the pain. His shirt was rumpled at the collar and he had lost a button in the brief scuffle with his former friend. Straightening his shirt, he walked back to his chair behind the desk and poured himself another glass of wine. He downed it in one gulp and sat back in his chair. He eyes were trained on Kaiyo, who was still slumped in front of him. With another snap of his fingers, he loosened his bonds and woke him up. "Huh? What's going on?", Kay asked in bewilderment. "You dozed off while I was giving you instructions. That was very rude of you." Virgo replied, his face as unforgiving as ever. "Oh, I'm sorry sir, I'm really sorry, please don't fire me. I promise it won't happen again." Kay was already on his feet, bowing and posturing apologetically. "I'd do just that, but I'm in a bright mood today. So I'll give you the rest of the day off." "Oh, lord. Thank you sir. I'm so grateful. I won't..." "Okay, okay, go before I change my mind." Virgo watched as the young man hurriedly made his way out of his office. Rolling up his sleeves, he ran his fingers over the most recent scar marks, and nodded his head again and again. "We'll try this another way."
