POSSESIVE HEARTS

  Samantha Peters has always been a happy go lucky girl with a bright smile that held everyone captive. She believed in karma and tried to live a clean and conscience life, that was until she met Matthew Richards. He was an enigma with good looks, athlete body and a charming smile. He could command a room with his presence. Their meeting was accidental leading Sammy as fondly referred by her friends and family to believe that it was fate. Samantha was heading home after leaving the diner where she works part time, when her vehicle broke down on unlighted path. She was scared stiff and to make matters worse the cell reception on that area was poor. Thirty minutes into her nightmare she saw speeding headlights coming her way and she got out from her car to hail it praying it wasn't a creep. Matt saw her hailing him, and decided to ignore her. He zoomed past her and saw her fall helplessly on her knees from the review mirror. Something alien tagged in his heart and he unwillingly reversed his car to where she was. ''Do you  need help?'' he asked. "Yes please, my car broke down and the cell reception here is so poor that I haven't been able to call a tow truck. I will pay you back, whatever you ask." Sammy mumbled on. "Anything?" he inquired with a hint in his eye. "Anything within reason, that is." she exclaimed covering her body in reflex. "Party popper, thought we would have a bit of fun with the 'anything.' oh well, what's wrong with your vehicle if you can refer to this metal junk as that." "My Polly isn't junk, she is an oldie with a spirit a Bentley. what she lacks in looks, she makes it up with reliability." Sammy has always loved her hand down Peugeot 504 since she inherited from her Grams on her eightieth birthday and hearing him call her junk rubbed her the wrong way. " Pray tell your definition of reliability, in my book this isn't it." "Mr. kindly lets drop the insults and help me." she implored. Soon her parents and siblings will form a search party for her and frankly Mr. smart mouth here was getting on her nerves. "Matt." he said. Sammy was so lost in her head that she didn't understand what he said. "Hmmmm..?" "Am not Mr. my name is Matt." his name somehow suited him, the arrogance and his aura. "So whom do they call you?" "Samantha, Samantha Peters." she replied to his query. "Sam, open the bonnet and we see what's ailing your Bentley." putting emphasis on the word Bentley. "call me Samantha!" "Sam, are you going to open the bonnet or should I leave you here?" Sammy was infuriated on being ignored by Matt and she hated being called Sam only Gram Gram calls her that. She opened the bonnet for him and he fixed some wires then he told Sammy to start the car. As soon as she hit ignition the car came back to life. She was so happy that she hurried from the car and hugged him. Matt was so shocked by the action, that he stood stiff. The posture didn't strike Sammy as odd due to her elation, but, the passenger's that alighted from the jeep that had stopped beside her car were not amused by the sight. Jack, her older protective brother was the first among the party of five to talk. "What the f**k is going on here Samantha!"
