3 Years Before Ada hurried out of the glass doors and paused momentarily on the carpeted landing. The red carpet was soft under her feet and silenced her steps. She secretly enjoyed the feeling of walking on the carpet, it felt like walking on a cloud. She felt regal with her mid-century styled formal wear complete with a black velvet beret and veil. She tilted her head up further to see better around her hat that slightly obscured her sightline. In her pause, she looked out ahead of her. Down the steps and further along the carpeted walkway were still a few groups standing behind the stanchions and velvet ropes.
