As the bus drove further into the city, the buildings got taller and blocked out the sunlight. The cabin of the bus grew dimmer as less light reached inside. Ada felt that the whole scene was symbolic. It reflected her bleak heart perfectly. She felt that she had lost the sunshine in her life. Now terror & doubt crowded in all around her, blocking out any light happiness may have brought.
