“Sir. We lost her.” “What?” Etienne ground out. He was sure he heard the man swallow over the receiver. “We almost had her. A soldier even had her restrained. But, uh,--” The man’s sentence trailed off. “What happened?” He asked through clenched teeth. “She somehow flipped him, and she took off running again. We lost sight of her. We haven’t had visual of her for 38 minutes.” Etienne pulled in a deep breath through his nose. Then he spoke in an even clipped tone. “Remain at the coordinates that you were sent to. We will be there in,” He glanced over at the navigation system on the dash. “20 minutes.” “Yes, sir.” Etienne ended the call. He stared at the screen for a beat.
