I let out a shocked scream as I fell off the stairs.
This was probably it. This was where I would die, unable to uncover a lot of hidden truths and mysteries.
I squeezed my eyes shut and braced myself for the end. I knew that it was going to be painful. I knew that it would bring tears and I thought that I would not be scared when the time came.
But I was beyond terrified.
Almost as if I was not done with the world yet. As if I still wanted to live.
As I expected the end to come, it never came.
Instead, warm hands grabbed me, enveloping me in safety and my eyes flew open with a gasp when I was met with Kyle's icy blue eyes.
