Kyle looked from me to Pevia speechlessly.
He did not have to say anything before I could know that he was in utter confusion. Pevia was unable to breathe another word for the next few seconds.
She seemed to be reliving a painful memory and I felt bad that I was forcing her to think about it. I had no choice. We needed all the clues that we could get in order to understand what was happening to us.
