For some reason, I was nervous.
My heart kept pounding heavily against my chest as Bryan quietly led me back to the house.
I was scared of the consequences of my actions. I was scared of what Riya would do to me. I was scared of what would become of me if Ruby eventually married the triplets.
So many thoughts raced through my mind and there was one thought that was prominent over all others.
I was helpless.
Despite having Bryan by my side, it was not enough. I needed more protection. Bryan could not always protect me.
