DAISY'S POV I used to think that I would someday find happiness. I used to think that I would find the love that I desperately sought. I used to think that I would have a family of my own, have kids and watch them grow alongside my husband— my mate. I never wanted much. I never asked for much. Not power, not influence, not money. All I wanted was happiness— happiness that I could find in my own family. A family built solemnly on love. But apparently, happiness was the most expensive thing. It came with a price— a price that I could not pay. It was apparently too much for someone like me to ask of. My wolf stirred as I thought about these things and tears filled up my eyes. At least, I was not going to be a burden to anyone else again. I was not going to be a danger to the pack
