The beginning
Everyone was just quiet, all eyes and no talk. It was as if one was waiting for the other to make a move. It had been so long since I last visited the Equinox, but the last time I was there things didn't seem so bad.

My father still had his short neatly kept beard and his business colleague still had his hair. At the time, they looked at peace with each other.
"Okay you two, go play away from here. We want to start the meeting. You can play anywhere you want, just don't go to the light side."Father said.
She held my hand and we dashed out of the room. I had never dashed before in my life because I was never taught how to.
"How do you do that?" I asked her.
"Just let loose and run." She answered.
She dashed away and left me behind as if to signal that I should follow her lead. I tried to follow her instructions and it turned out to be as easy as running. We chased each other all over the Equinox, laughing about like two little fools. On looking at home, I stopped to look at the beautiful ring of colorless fluid revolving around our planet.
"Get out of there!"
"What's the problem?"
"Run!"
I dashed to her and I could see her looking at me funny. She put the palm of her hand on my face and I was breathless at the contact of her skin on mine.
"You were standing in the light for more than a minute. How are you still intact?"
"How would I know? I was just looking at my home planet."
"So you are from Lantanum?"
"Yes."
She held my hand in hers and she asked, "Shall I show you where I am from?"
"Sure."
She took me to the other side of the Equinox in a matter of seconds and she pointed at Actinium.
"Son! It is time to go back home."
I dashed to where my father was and I could see the pride in his eyes.We took the mothership back home and during the entire trip back, he did not say a thing.
That is all I recall from the first meeting.

I saw Canis Major ready the troops and load them up into the battle ship. Father was dressed in his royal gown and his crown had a brilliant blue gem which he only put on occasionally.
"You know you can come along if you want to, right?"
"Yes, I know that, but I do not want her to see me like that . I have to stay behind, father."
"I understand."
I really wanted to go with him because I would get the chance to bond with him or I would finally learn my childhood friend's name, but I just could not go. The zits on my face made me look like a cheetah and no, not the cute kind.I could not go out in public looking like that. So I just sat this one out but all I could think about was the gentle touch I felt from her, way back.
******************NOW*******************
"I thought we agreed to come alone."
"Don't worry about him, he is only here for moral support."
"I thought I made it clear that I would never hand it over to you."
"You are making it harder for me to keep my cool Uzinouph.I might just have to..."
"Ooh... here we go again. What are you going to threaten to do this time huh? Start a war? Go ahead. Do it!"
"Shut up Eridanus!"
"I'm sorry my lord. But..."
"No buts. Just shut up!"
"Your little friend has given me an idea. Just like the old times if I wanted something from you..." his eyes began to glow red and they seemed to have some sparks coming out of them, "I just have to take it from your weak little hands."
"Okay then, you want a war? You got it! Just don't say I didn't warn you Perseus."
The ground began shaking and the Equinox was like an unstable ball. Uzinouph's eyes sparkled in brilliant white and he gave a short smile of sorts before exiting the room. Eridanus followed and the two boarded the battle ship.
When father came home, I could see the fear in his eyes. I saw him,Canis Major and Eridanus were standing in one of the stands (facing me).I was still busy practicing my attacks. My magic had gotten stronger and so had I, but my emotions always got the best of me. They made me lose focus. Despite all that, I was still the best at the barracks. I had raised the bar after attaining 13 different ranks; that was nine more than Canis' son had.
Meanwhile [In the stands]
"No. I don't think your son is ready."
"But I'm sure he is my lord."
"What about Perdivacx my lord."
"No way. You shall not send my son on a suicide mission."
"With all due respect my lord, he is probably the fittest and most powerful of all our soldiers. Don't you remember what he did when he was merely two years of age?"
