Jax and Luciano had just come out of the shower. Jax, now in full control, slipped into the kind of attire that reminded everyone he was not just a man—he was the Don. Sharp suit, commanding aura, every move calculated. As he adjusted his cuffs, Draco’s call came in.
“Boss, we’re here. Gates are locked.”
Luciano caught on instantly and, with a swift command over his phone, told the guards to let the cars through. Jax mouthed a soft thank you, but his eyes carried that subtle fire of a man who never needed help, yet appreciated it only from his beloved.
Hand in hand, Luciano and Jax descended the stairs.

Outside the Estate
Don Vittorio had already been told about the incoming fleet. Irritated, he marched outside, trailed by curious family members. But when he saw the convoy, his irritation froze into shock.
The gleaming black cars, polished like mirrors, bore a sigil that could make nations tremble—the Kingmaker’s insignia. On the lead car, the bold first letter of his name glinted in the night light, impossible to miss.
Don Vittorio staggered. Impossible. His mind roared with disbelief.
The men exited the cars with precision, all in black, radiating lethal discipline. They lined up like statues of war, guarding the lead car as if guarding a throne. Their silence was louder than any words—this was a man who commanded empires.
The crowd of De Lucas gasped. Murmurs swelled.
“Whose men are those?” someone whispered.
“Those symbols… no… it can’t be…” another stammered.
“The Kingmaker?”
And then they saw Jax.
---
The Walk
He and Luciano emerged through the main hall. Jax’s stride was unhurried, regal, each step ringing with dominance. His tailored suit caught the light, his aura heavier than steel. Every gaze clung to him, unwilling yet unable to look away.
Isabella leaned close to Luciano, whispering with wide eyes, “Brother… your man needs to be locked away. He’s causing too much confusion.”
Luciano couldn’t deny it—his own eyes undressed Jax with pride.
Meanwhile, Alessio froze. He had been obsessing over Jax silently, imagining him, desiring him. But this… this was another level. The man was no fantasy—he was power incarnate. Alessio’s obsession twisted into a sharper, darker hunger.
When Draco spotted Jax, he rushed forward and opened the door for him with a bow. And then it happened—the men bowed in unison to Jax.
The De Luca family gasped again. Isabella’s hand flew to her mouth. Antonio and Marco stared wide-eyed. Even Elena and Enzo, who knew the truth, felt chills seeing it play out in flesh and blood.
“He… he’s the Kingmaker…” Isabella breathed.

Shockwaves
Don Vittorio felt his chest tighten. He had mocked this man. Dismissed him. Dared to humiliate him. And he is the Kingmaker? The ground beneath him shifted. James, pale as death, actually took a step back, hiding slightly behind his father.
Jax, however, wasn’t fazed. He turned first to Luciano, drawing him into a tight embrace, inhaling his scent like it anchored him. Then he kissed him, firm and lingering, in full view of the family. A deliberate claim.
“Take care,” Jax murmured against his lips. “I’ll be waiting for you tomorrow.”
Luciano smiled, hugging him again, unwilling to let go, before finally pulling back.
Jax then addressed his parents-in-law. “It was a pleasure meeting you. I’ll extend a personal invitation soon.”
Enzo and Elena exchanged a proud glance, bowing their heads slightly. “We’ll look forward to it,” Elena said warmly.
Turning, Jax looked directly at Isabella, Antonio, and Marco. His voice was calm but ironclad:
“We’ll meet again.”
They nodded silently, the weight of his words pinning them down.
Finally, his gaze locked onto Don Vittorio and James. That look was lethal, unspoken, yet sharp enough to slice through their pride. A reminder: I warned you. Never underestimate me.
Don Vittorio’s throat went dry. James’s knees nearly buckled.
Jax softened only when his eyes returned to Luciano. “Be careful. I’ll miss you,” he said with rare tenderness before sliding into the car.
Draco shut the door. The convoy pulled away, engines rumbling like thunder fading into the night.
The De Lucas stood frozen, breathless.
Then the whispers erupted again:
“He humiliated Nonno…”
“He kissed Luciano in front of everyone…”
“Dio mio… he’s the Kingmaker…”
Don Vittorio remained rooted, eyes dark, fury and fear warring in his chest. For the first time in decades, he felt small.

After Jax’s Departure
The roar of the convoy engines faded into the night, but the silence that followed in the De Luca estate was heavier than steel. No one moved at first, no one even breathed loudly—it was as if the air itself had been stolen.
Then the whispers began.
“Did you see the way his men bowed…?”
“Like he was a king…”
“He is the Kingmaker. Madre di Dio…”
All eyes slowly turned toward Luciano. Some filled with awe, some with envy, some with burning confusion.
---
Don Vittorio
Don Vittorio stood pale, his hands clenched behind his back to keep them from trembling. His heart hammered in his chest. He knew that name. The Kingmaker. The man whose empire stretched beyond Italy, whose whispers alone could move markets and collapse dynasties. The man other dons feared to even mention aloud.
And that man had just kissed his grandson in front of everyone.
Vittorio swallowed hard, his throat dry. He had mocked Jax, belittled him, treated him as an unworthy stranger. Dio santo… He’d been dancing on the edge of his own destruction without knowing it.
If he wanted… he could destroy the De Lucas in a single night, Vittorio thought, cold sweat sliding down his back. And he’d be justified in doing so.
For the first time in decades, Don Vittorio wasn’t angry. He was afraid.
---
James
James, still rooted beside his father, felt the fear too—but it twisted differently in him. His jaw clenched, his pride stung. His hatred for Jax grew sharper than a knife. Yet even his hatred trembled under the shadow of what he had just witnessed.
He muttered under his breath, “Luciano… what have you gotten yourself into?”
But he dared not raise his voice. Not tonight.
---
Isabella
Isabella’s eyes shone—not with fear, but pride. A slow smirk spread across her lips as she looked at her brother.
“I just can't believe this.” she said, her voice cutting through the murmurs. “Luciano De Luca, grandson of Don Vittorio… is the Kingmaker's lover. Well, brother, you’ve outdone us all.”
Her words carried a sharp edge , full of pride. And they hit the others like a dagger.
---
Alessio
Alessio, however, looked shattered. His obsession with Jax had always burned quietly, a hidden flame he thought he could control. But tonight, watching the Kingmaker himself kiss Luciano as if no one else existed—it shattered every fantasy he had.
His jaw tightened, his knuckles whitening. Desire turned into a dangerous obsession. If Luciano has him… then what am I left with?
---
The Rest of the Family
Antonio whispered, “Luciano is no ordinary mafia anymore. His lover is the strongest, wealthiest mafia lord alive.”
Marco added bitterly, “It makes him untouchable. Who would dare cross him now?”
Elena, pride swelling in her chest, leaned toward Enzo. “Our son couldn’t have chosen better.”
Enzo nodded slowly, his lips curling into a smile. “He’s surpassed us all. Luciano is now beyond their reach.”
And so it began—envy, awe, and quiet fear. Luciano had become the center of every thought in the De Luca household.

Don Vittorio’s Thoughts
As he finally turned and walked back into the house, Vittorio’s steps felt heavy. His mind reeled.
If the Kingmaker claims Luciano as his, then our future depends on him. But if he ever turns against us…
For the first time in his long reign, Don Vittorio felt powerless. The legacy of the De Lucas no longer rested in his hands—it rested in Luciano’s bond with Jax.
And that realization terrified him.
