“Yea keep reading,” Paula instructed pulling a chair into my office and sat down. “Don't worry The boss isn't gonna be at work today,” she nudged my shoulder playfully. Her words registered in my head quickly, I jumped on my seat and faced Paula “Why, what happened?” “No one knows, I guess it was some kind of emergency,” paula answered. All I could think of was his words to me the previous night, about his life being complicated. I wanted to understand what he meant and I wanted to help him as well.
