John's POV
We got news from King Arlen that the insurance company that held the life insurance policies Audra purchased was reimbursing her for the premiums she paid. Emmett Holt and Conner were already in Belfast monitoring the office waiting for Audra to show up. Ellie, her father and I, and the Starr brothers were heading out this afternoon.
I knew better than to stop Ellie from coming with us. Saying whatever it was Ellie needed to say to her mother and watching the end of Audra was the closure my mate ultimately needed. Karyn was staying at Dreake to take care of Zoe.
Ellie zipped up her suitcase and sat down on the edge of the bed. My usually talkative mate looked out the window in a daze. I set my suitcase off to the side and sat down beside her, wrapping my arms around her.
