Heiklos: The Crown's Covenant

THIRD PERSON'S POV "The humans are attacking the city! Seek the founding families for protection!" the Kingdom Knights shouted as much as they could to protect and save the Heikleans from the havoc that humans brought to the Kingdom of Heiklos. "Knights please save my daughter, they held her captive! Please, I beg you, save her!" the old heiklean desperately clung to the knight's uniform. "Yes, we shall save her. For now, go and find other Heikleans, stick together and find a safer place" the knight said to the old man. The old man hurriedly made a response and ran away. Meanwhile, in the palace, you can sense a high tension surrounding the silence of the Founding Families. "This is the reason why you shouldn't have trusted those human beings! Now look at us, we are crawling like insects before them!" the Crown Prince shouted at the Queen, who was in deep thoughts. "I beg you to stay quiet, Zellion! You are in no place to disrespect our older sister!" the First Princess told the Crown Prince, who was still fuming mad about his older sister and the Queen's decisions. The Queen stood up from her throw and raised her head proudly to exhibit power and dominance. "Heiklos is a kingdom of supernaturals, we are not going down that easily because of some powerless traitors throwing tantrums at us" the Queen said. "The kingdom will protect its citizens; the palace shall be the headquarters and refuge for the Heikleans. All chambers and rooms should be used to treat wounded Heikleans and knights. The palace knights will surround the palace as well as the founding family members. The head of each founding family shall be with me in the capital. Lastly, Crown Prince Zellion Kezhia Viale will take command in the palace from now on!" all of them looked at the Queen with admiration and thus kneeling and bowing to the greatest ruler before them. "As you command! All grace shall befall on Heiklos!" all of them shouted with their hearts offered to their kingdom. In the capital, dead bodies of both Heikleans and humans were found lying on the ground. The head of each founding family and the Queen marched to the center of the capital where the greatest force of humanity awaits. "Your highness, Eve is with the humans who attacked us, this shall prove her betrayal against us" the kingdom knight reported to her majesty, but before he left, chills ran down his spine as he felt the chilling bloodlust coming from her majesty, those dead eyes, smirk and aura screams bloodlust and terror. He was amazed that the founding family members could stay clam with that aura surrounding them. "What is the plan, Your Highness?" Duchess Mary asked, the head of the Uvilium Family. She is a water attribute holder. "I believe that you already know what to do as one of the duchesses of the kingdom, Mary," the Queen said. Duchess Mary bowed her head and went on to protect her beloved kingdom from the atrocities of humanity. "Water Magic Technique: Sea's Curse" Duchess Mary chanted and then a huge magic circle appeared in front of her as a huge wave of water surges wiped away the group of humans that came in her way. She kicked the human hiding behind her, "Argh!" they screamed when the waves hit them. Duchess Mary, ran into the water and saved the other Heikleans who were affected by the waves. "Thank you so much!" a Heiklean shouted, then the duchess controlled the waves to lay the Heikleans on the ground.  When she heard metals clashing behind her, a human attacked her with a spear. "Die!" he shouted, then threw the spear at the duchess. Her eyes widened when she realized that the spear was about to hit her, but she dodged it when the spear was a few centimeters away from her face.  She looked at the man with cold and sharp eyes that made him tremble, but then, when she was about to attack him, the soldier mustered his courage and drew out a sword. "You really don't know when to give up" she said to the soldier, but he just looked at her with fierce and unyielding eyes. "Haaaaah!!!" he shouted and dashed towards the duchess. He attacked her continuously, with trembling hands, he fought her with all his might. But then Duchess Mary just dodged all his attacks. "Oh my, I can't chant any techniques!" she complained. She thought that his continuous attacks were distracting her and that she kept on moving backwards. "Die you monster!" he yelled at her back. She saw the extreme hatred and loath that the soldier felt. "Sadly, I won't..... but you will" she told him, then she controlled the water around her to strike the soldier's sword. When the water hit his sword, he let go of it completely, because of the great force of the attack. He looked terrified and scared, his knees gave up and he fell on his knees in front of Duchess Mary. He looked at her and became more terrified when the duchess's palm was on his face. Water Magic Technique: Water Convergence" she chanted, then a magic circle appeared before the soldier’s eyes. The water that immerged in the magic circle formed a dense cone swirling at the speed of light that shreds your insides completely. He can't even speak a word because fear is already consuming him. His life flashed before his eyes, "Ah, I should've told my wife and son that I loved them" he muttered, then a direct hit on the head caused his tragic death. Duchess Mary walked away, "Humans are really amusing" she mumbled to herself. She approached her husband, Duke Maxim Uvilium, who was fighting a human with different armor. She guessed that it must be a general or someone in a higher position. "Do you need any help?" she asked him when the soldier and her husband clashed their swords. "No, if you don't have anything to do, help the other knights" he said. She just nodded and shrugged her shoulders. She walked away but a sudden pain stroked her nape. "Ow" she winced, she touched her nape and felt that there were some needles being injected into her nape. The duchess sighed, she took out all the needles and turned around to see who had attacked her. There she saw a human who is wearing a cloak. She sighed, "Here we go again." The Duke of the Leathenes, Duke Orion Leathene, panted when ten human soldiers attacked him at once. "Air Magic Technique: 100 Air Swords" he chanted, a big magic circle appeared on his back, then a hundred swords surrounded it. The swords had bells in them that, once you hear them ring, they attack in any direction that the one who chants wants. Screams surrounded the duke as clanking of metals enveloped the whole area. He marched towards the center of the kingdom where the statue of the goddess resides. There he found the strongest warriors of humanity. With their metal armor, big shields and sharp swords, they prepared for the arrival of the duke. "Don't let any monsters reach the main base" one of the soldiers yelled to his comrades. "Main base, huh? I thought this was the one" he said to them. "All warriors! Attack!!" the general yelled. "Haaaaahhh!!" the soldiers yelled as they dashed to attack the duke. "This will be troublesome" he said to himself, then chanted a technique, "Air Magic Technique: Flight". Wings grew on his back as strong wind surrounded the soldiers because of how the wings flapped. Arrows with fire on their arrowheads fired towards his direction. He flapped his wings, which made the arrows lose their direction, but due to their number, their arrows avoided the harsh air and hit the duke's wings. He winced in pain as arrows grazed his whole body and his wings were already on fire. "Air Magic Technique: 10000 Air Swords" he chanted as bells were heard in the entire place that wiped one fourth of humanity's force. "Fire Magic Technique: Crimson Fang" Duke Lucas Crimson chanted, "Argh!" the soldiers screamed when the dragon's fangs penetrated their body, its long body crushed the other soldiers into pulp. A soldier attacked him from the back. He quickly dodged the sword but this soldier's instincts were quite sharp as he pulled three daggers from his armor. One dagger penetrated the duke's hand when he shielded his body from the attack. The soldier spoke in a different language that the duke wasn't able to comprehend what the soldier said. "*け*!" (monster!) the soldier said. The duke realized that it wasn't just one nation that wanted them dead, but the whole race of humanity. "Humans really want us to vanish from the face of the whole world" he mumbled to himself. He then took the dagger out of his hands. Blood gushed out of his hands. He winced in pain as he surrounded his injured hands with Healing Fire, a technique that heals the wound of the one bearing the blood of the Crimson. Three other soldiers with the same armor as the first one appeared. They were carrying two swords. Duke Lucas squinted his eyes when he realized that the swords had a different shape. He smirked, "Their swords look good". He smiled as a great idea came to his mind. "Fire magic Technique: Replica". Two magic circles formed on his hands as one katana immerged from both of it. The blades are the same but the handle is different. It is wrapped in crimson red fabric with a red silk cloth as its tail. "ああ！ *" (Ah! Katana!), the samurais exclaimed when magic appeared before their eyes. "Then shall we begin?" Duke Lucas said with a smirk on his face. "Argh" a soldier screamed in pain when Duke Requin Dandelion slashed his leg with a long thin sword. "Lowly human" he said, and moved towards his next target. "Terrain Magic Technique: Tree of Life" a wide magic circle appeared on the ground as the ground trembled, revealing a huge tree as huge as a castle, with vines as long as a building and roots as big as a house. The tree trampled half of humanity's force. Cries of pain and agony enveloped the tree as the vines started to cage humans. Its vines have the power to heal and destroy life depending on what the one who uses the technique wants. They also picks up some Heikleans who are still on the battlefield and healed their wounds. Unlike the Crimson's Healing Fire that only heals the bearer of their blood, the Dandelion's Tree of Life heals everyone that the bearer or user wishes to heal. But it can't revive the dead, unless they use its f*******n magic that requires the user’s life.  The duke turned around when he felt a presence. It wasn't full of rage and passion. It was peaceful that it reminded him of the calm before the storm. Five women dressed in white appeared in front of him. "Heh, beautiful" he smirked, he prepared his sword and approached the ladies slowly because he thought that he didn't want to scare such beautiful ladies. Half of their faces were covered in satin cloth as each of them held different types of weapon. A dagger, a katana, a fan, some sharp pointed metal and a string. "Hmm, a string? That is a weird choice of weapon" he said, and dashed towards them at a great speed, surprising the ladies. He slashed their clothes, which revealed some parts of their bodies. But then he felt a stinging pain in his left arm. It was a cut coming from the string holder. There was poison in her string, but it wasn't just forming the string holder. Needles were also penetrating his left leg. He guessed that it came from the fan holder, since the fans have needles on their tips. "You really have some good weapons". His vision suddenly became blurry, it seemed like the needles were also poisonous. The ladies moved swiftly, injuring the duke, but that was the only damage they inflicted on him, because the duke chanted a technique that ended their lives. "Terrain Magic Technique: Poison Ivy" Eve, who was waiting for them, became excited when she saw her dearest sister or the one she treated like a sister. "Zedi, I have been waiting for you", Eve said, with mischief in her eyes. "Ah, so you have been waiting for your death, Eve" her majesty said, with a melancholic smile and cold eyes on her face. "Let's see how this ends" her majesty said before drawing her sword from a magic circle. Each of the founding family members fought humans until their last breath but, as expected, humanity lost against supernatural beings. "Eve, take a look at your comrades' heads and bodies lying on the ground like some piece of trash. I can't believe you took us for granted, for these human beings" the Queen said smugly at her 'little sister' who was looking at her intently. "Sacrifices are to be made for us to succeed, Therezedine" the Queen furrowed her eyebrows because of how Eve looked. Her eyes looked hopeless and lifeless, as if she was expecting this to end this way. Queen Therezedine didn't say anything and dashed towards Eve, but five soldiers protected her and made the queen stop in her tracks. "Why come to the battlefield if you're just going to hide behind your minions?" Queen Therezedine asked Eve, who was sitting prettily behind the Greek warriors. "I wanna see how you will die" she said smugly, even though eve is fully aware that no creature will be able to defeat Therezedine, because she is a goddesses' descendant. The queen sighed and chanted a technique. "Space Magic Technique: Rot", a magic circle appeared on the ground surrounding the warriors. Hands made of sculls immerged from the pits of hell as they swirled around their bodies. "Ahhhh!!" slow and painful death became the warriors' fate as the hands slowly disintegrated their bodies. After a few minutes, nothing was left as their ashes were blown away by the wind. "You're really powerful and brutal, Therezedine," Eve said. She looked at her with cold eyes. 'Hmm, you are really a woman of tremendous power, but you couldn't even use it to protect me when I needed you the most', she thought to herself. She stood up and grabbed the soldier's sword which was lying on the ground. "You already know that and you still chose to betray me", the Queen marched towards Eve. Eve stood still and waited for her to arrive, 'Father, mother, and brother, I'll be with you soon'. She smiled as Therezedine used her sword to kill her. Eve shielded herself with the sword that made the queen step back. Queen Therezedine didn't know what to feel, hesitation, frustration and confusion enveloped her whole mind from the time she heard that Eve had betrayed her. She felt nothing at first, but suddenly rage and anger consumed her whole system. But now that she was facing Eve herself, she once again felt empty. She knew that even though Eve's betrayal felt like cuts of a thousand blades, her heart still felt that affection she always kept for Eve. Queen Therezedine and Eve clash swords. Their clothes were full of blood and sweat already. Eve doesn't know why Therezedine is holding back, but she realizes that there is no point in thinking, she just needs to do what she ought to do. "Eve" Therezedine called her, but her voice sounded so empty. "Hmm?" she hummed. Eve knew that Therezedine was prolonging this battle of heart and soul. She knew Therezedine so much that her eyes looked like an open book of pain, doubts and regrets to her. Both of them took a step back. Eve noticed the black figures on top of one of the houses. 'I guess I'm done here’. Eve took the sword and pointed it to her chest where her heart resided. 'Zedi, the time that I spent with you was the happiest moment of my life.' she thought to herself as she struck herself with the sword. Blood gushed out of her chest and mouth as tears flowed through her cheeks. It was really a painful death and she wasn't able to avenge her family's death, but maybe not in this life, but she would certainly come for them to get her revenge. She looked at Therezedine, her eyes looked so cold. "I-it's cold" she mumbled to herself. Therezedine walked towards her, Eve's white dress became b****y red as her blood flooded the ground around her. Looking at Eve, she felt a lump in her throat and a tug on her chest. She held her head and looked at her eyes. "Humans are no superior beings; you are just animals with brains" her majesty said. "Hmm, that's true, but we have a heart that feels different kinds of emotions. Call us cowards for doing you dirty but.... As long as the likes of you live, humanity will never survive. We did this for... the future of humanity", Eve said, and took her last breath. She was finally at peace after a long journey. The skies became clearer as the sun rose from the east, which brought warmth to Eve's soul. At long last, dawn finally came. Her majesty laid her head lightly on the ground and turned her back on Eve to move forward. As strong as she was, a lone tear still escaped her eyes. She thought that a lone tear was all it took, but continuous tears flowed through her cheeks as Eve's smile appeared before her eyes, loneliness crept throughout her whole system as her memories with Eve flashed on her mind. Those happy memories would forever stay in her heart. Even though she would slowly forget about it, knowing that she would live a very long life, she knew that Eve was special to her, always. "It was a fun adventure while it lasted, Eve" she hurriedly wiped her tears and regrouped with the other founding family leaders. "Let's head back to the palace where our comrades await" everyone agreed and headed back to the palace. When they arrived at the palace, they were greeted with smiles and claps from the Heikleans. The queen walked on a path made by her people. All of them bowed to their monarch and offered their greatest respect. "People of Heiklos! On this day, we were faced by the second greatest trial that has fallen to our kingdom. Because of this, we will create a peaceful world where our existence is not threatened by anyone. I, The Queen of Heiklos, Therezedine Viale, shall create a world for us!" all Heikleans clapped and praised Therezedine's name. But the founding family members were confused by what she said, but they didn't really mind. The founding family got busy with treating and supporting the Heikleans, which is why they forgot what the queen said until a big gold magic circle appeared that enveloped the whole kingdom. Everyone was shocked and speechless, even the founding family members were confused for a moment until the Crown Prince shouted. "That i***t! Stop the queen! She is using f*******n magic!" the Crown Prince shouted, and the founding family members ran to find the queen. The queen is in the sky with a magic circle as her platform looks down on her kingdom with sad eyes. "I shall comeback and rule you once again. For now, live peacefully and happily". With that, the ground started crumbling and all light and magic were disabled in the presence of time and space. All things were motionless before her and even the founding family members couldn't do anything against her. The queen's body was surrounded with blinding light as she said the incantation to make a space or another world on Earth. Finally, the time has come to say the final part of the incantation..."f*******n Space Magic Technique: Garden of Eden". Time returned to normal and the first thing that the Heikleans saw was their queen's body falling from the sky. Everyone was shocked that they didn't know how to react, until they heard a cry full of agony and pain that came from the First Princess. Then, the founding family members bow their heads down as a sign of respect for the fallen queen. The Crowned Prince fetched his older sister's body, which had fallen from the sky. "Citizens of Heiklos! Bow down your heads and kneel before Her Highness. Pay the highest respect to our fallen queen" the Crown Prince said, while looking sadly at her sister. "You're really an i***t for a queen," A few days later, a scroll was found on the queen's dress. The Crown Prince, being the next in line to rule the kingdom, read the writings on the scroll. "I, Therezedine Viale, Queen of Heiklos, appoint my younger brother, Zellion Kezhaia Viale, the Crown Prince of Heiklos, the temporary ruler of the Kingdom of Heiklos until I return. Keep my body safe and sound for my soul will return when the spark of destiny triggers my awakening. For that to happen, go to the human world when this scroll burns to ashes, find my host and bring her where my body lies. I will be there, where we started. This is my life's covenant as the queen of Heiklos.”
