Arthur dropped to his knees on the white marble. He sobbed loudly enough to turn heads, but the guests kept moving around us. I watched him for a moment. I had imagined this scene often enough, but now I only wanted to take Leo home. Two men in dark suits came to my side. Julian’s security team said nothing and never touched Arthur. They stood shoulder to shoulder between us and blocked his path, leaving room for Leo and me to reach the doors. Arthur looked from one guard to the other.
