“I am sorry,” Was all Cassie could say. She wouldn’t bear it if she was fired on the first day of work. Kelly wouldn’t do that… Cassie hoped. Would she? Her question remained unanswered as Kelly interrupted Cassie’s inner struggle.
Kelly eyed her wearily from the tip of her nose “One of the first rules of working here is that you can never be late to your duties and that is why Mr. Black took the pains of accommodating you here to avoid excuses like this.” She added, narrowing her eyes. “Do not be late in anything you do in this house. Do I make myself clear?”
Cassie nodded solemnly. “Yes.” She stepped closer; placing the paper into Kelly’s outstretched hand. Kelly yanked the paper out of Cassie’s hand before she could complete her intended action.
“Did you read all the rules?” She ask
