“Cassie, about last night...” He started with a guilt-laden face. Cassie turned sharply and almost snorted at the way he shivered at the expression on her face which she knew wasn’t looking all that great. It was his entire fault…if only he didn’t leave her hanging. Cassie raised an eyebrow. “What about last night?” She asked innocently. He looked surprised. “You don’t remember?” She nodded, and then he narrowed his eyes. “You didn’t drink with me so how is it that you can’t remember?” he asked skeptically. Cassie shrugged. “I don’t remember and that’s it. I tend to sleep walk and so anything that happens, I don’t usually remember.” She took a sip of her coffee, looking at him intensely. “Okay.” Elijah looked like he didn’t know what to say that wouldn’t make her feel less offended.
