Later That Day . . After taking a shower and putting on a clean hoodie of theirs and some jeans, I put my hair up into a pony tail before walking out of the bathroom. "I'm ready for this shopping trip." I say as I pull up my hood, roll my eyes and casually put my hands into my pockets. They stare at me wide eyed. Finally, Calum clears his throat and plasters on a ridiculous smile. I laugh. "Let's go then!" He yells as he runs to the front door but skids to a halt. He opens the door slowly then breaks into a run again. They boy's take off after him and I'm left alone. "Wait!" I wail as I take off after them as well. When I reach them, I notice that they are waiting for me. "Race you to the end of the block!" Ashton screams at me. I smirk as he runs off. He lost already. I take off at a sprint and I shoot past Ashton. "WHAT!" He screams as I reach the end of the block a minute before him. "Haha! I'm more athletic then you are!" I jeered. "Not fair." Ashton says in a little kid voice as he skids to a stop beside me. "Where now?" I ask when everyone catches up to us. They look from left to right. "To the mall!" Luke whales as he runs off, turning right, then left, then right again. "Wait!" Calum, Ashton, Michael and I yell as we run off after him. When we reach Luke, we see that the street is deserted. He looks left, right, then left again. The road is clear so he starts walking across the street. He makes it halfway across the street when suddenly, we hear a car screech onto the street, not slowing down as it approaches Luke. If only, I think it got faster. Luke freezes in place, frightened. "Luke!" I yell as everything goes into slow motion. I break into a run as the car approaches more and more. I'm not going to make it in time. I thought as I sped up, trying to reach him. "LUKE!!!!!!!!!" I scream again as I lunge for him, reaching for him. Magically, my arms connect with his torso, wrapping around him. The momentum causes him to fall away from the oncoming car. When we land on the ground, we both grunt in pain as his body, and my arms, scrape against the pavement. The car swerves and runs over my legs before speeding away. That bastard! I mentally yelled. "F-Forbidden?" Luke manages to choke out. "Yeah?" I grunt as I get off of him, dragging my legs behind me. "Thank you." He whispers as he sits up. His eyes widen when he sees my crushed legs. "Are you ok!?!" He exclaims as the rest of the boys run over. "Let's just say we might have to take a rain check on that shopping trip." I softly joke as he starts to pick me up bridal style. I whimper in pain. "Where's the nearest hospital?" Luke asks Ashton. He whips out his phone and checks. "A few blocks from here." Ashton replies. Luke looks down at me and his gaze softens. "Can you hang on that long?" He asks me. "I-I c-can try." I stutter. He nods softly then breaks off into a run toward the sidewalk then down the street. I feel darkness eating away at the edges of my vision. Luke notices and tightens his grip on me. "Stay awake Forbidden, stay awake." He whispers and I try to do as told, but it doesn't work. I'm unconscious within seconds. . ~ Luke's POV ~ "Stay awake Forbidden. Stay awake." I say as I tightened my grip on her, but my efforts are in vain as she soon goes limp in my arms. Hang on, Forbidden. Hang on! I won't leave you again! I barely second guessed the thought as the hospital came into view. I burst through the door. "Someone help my friend!" I yelled to no one in particular. The nurse behind the front desk rushes over to me. "What happened?" She asks. "She saved me from getting run over but her legs were..." I trail off. The nurse then looks down at her legs and her eyes widen. She runs back over to her desk and presses a button. Almost immediately, four people pulling along a stretcher rush up to me. I lay her down onto the stretcher softly. They rush off quickly, leaving me alone with the boys. . Eight Hours Later . "Sir?" A nurse walks up to me. "Is she ok?" I ask. Her gaze softens a bit. "Yes, she is fine. We just need to run a few blood tests on you. We found a possibly harmful germ in her bloodstream and we believe that it could have been passed onto you." She said kindly. "Ok..." I say. I look back at the boys for reassurance and they only nodded in encouragement. I let the nurse lead me into a room where they were going to take the sample. . An Hour Later . "Well, the good news is that the germ is in fact not harmful and that it wasn't passed onto you." The same nurse approached me, smiling. "So?" I say as I look up at her. "We are just going to run a few more tests so we need to run a few more tests but you'll get your results soon." She reassured and I nodded, understanding. "Fine by me."
