Adelabu!

Chapter nine

It’s season for the great Bashorun to get for himself a new wife to add to the existing five in his household. He also have to sacrifice his last wife’s son for the for the annual sacrifice before marring a new wife that will bear the child for next year’s festival. He move straight into his dsacred room to start the sascrificial process, as he got there, he made some incantation, “oh my gods, I have come again this year to pay my tribute, please accept my sacrife, oh my mother, please accept it ohhhh”. He started with the calling of the spirit of the child, 

 “Akin omo akobi iyawo tuntun mi

 Mo pe o ni sinyii 

   Ki o je mi ni oo temi”

Which means “Akin, the first child of my new wife

   I call thee

Answer as I call thee”

In a flash, the young boy’s spirit appeared and Adewale cut his head and pour the boy’s blood on the magic box. This Is a wicked world that we live in! he dropped all the things used for the sacrifice and find his way back to his bedroom. As he step into his bedroom, he could hear his last wife’s voice, crying and wailing. The boy is dead! Bashorun Adewale laughed silently that his sacrifice had been accepted! He rushed out of his room to attend to the boy to avoid suspicion, even if they suspect him, who will dare the lion? He touched him and announced that the boy’s dead. He tld his servant to dig the ground and bury the boy. 

  Bashorun Adewale called all his servants and inform them of his intention to go out and they all must follow him. He told them he is taking the bush path. They were all afraid to question him, who will dare the lion? He jumped on his horse and off they went to the bush. On their way, they met a lot of people, all of them all bow down to greet him. Some of his servant stayed in the front , some at the back. Some were praising and some were fanning him. It’s indeed an ironical world. Who will end it?

 They came across a group of hunters who were taking their afternoon nap, on sighting the Bashorun, they all refused to greet him nor care someone is passing. The servant all looked at themselves, they were surprised to find some group of people like this. The Bashorun jumped down from his horse and wlks toward them. All his servant started hailing him, “logun o fe o” he looked at the hunters and point at them, “ eyin ode, you hunters, why don’t you want to greet me? I passed by you and you didn’t bother to say “hi” or at least a good morning. You can not even prostrate for me or ain’t you aware that it is he GREAT BASHORUN ADEWALE that is standing in front of you? I’m the lion that eat up the whole kingdom! How dare you bastards behave like this to me? 

 The hunters looked at him and speak with faith, “we’re not afraid of you! Do you think we are cowards like your king? You see, I, Odegbemi, is not afraid of you don of a bastard! You can’t do anything to me.” Odegbemi boasted. “ ah ah ah, you dare talk to me in that manner, Odegbemi? I will make sure you are roasted to death!” The Bashorun said angrily. He jumped on his horse and said, “eyin eso, Guards! Burn all of them! Kill them!”. The fight was so tough, when Bashorun sensed that the hunters are overpowering his guards, he quickly jumped down from his horse and told his slaves to retreat. When they all move back, he made some incantation; 

  “Oh my gods

  Oh my mothers

  Come to my aid

  Adewale wants to roast them to death!

  Devil, where’s thy weapon?

  Be fast! Make haste!”

 In a flash, something which is reddish in colour appeared on his hands. It looks like a bomb; he threw it at the hunters who seems dumbfounded. The fire burnt all of them in that same spot as their body was sticked to the ground. Never underestimate the power of Bashorun Adewale! Remaining only Odegbemi who is in between life and death, the Bashorun walk up to where he is rooted to, powerless! 

 “Odegbemi, I told you some minutes ago that I’m the lion that eats up the whole kingdom, you laughed and take me as a fool who’s got no brain, look at you now. I implore you not to play with fire but you decide to. Look at the result of your disobedience. I told you tat I would roast you to death, you said “nay”. Before you roast to death, I will cut off your head! The viper wants to drink blood! Sapengo, get me a cutlass, and get me oil to burn his remaining part of his body with two stones!”. The Bashorun laughed uncontrollable. 

 “Please I beg you, don’t kill me, I beg you my lord”. Odegbemi pleaded for mercy but forgiveness is a sin according to Bashorun Adewale. All the servant started hailing the Bashorun, “logun o fe o” . Sapengo returned with the cutlass and gives it to the Bashorun, “my gods oh, I’m ready to cut this one, accept it as a sacrifice!”. He raised the cutlass and it landed on Odegbemi’s head. The Bashorun carries the head and drank the blood! Sapengo, in turn poured oil on Odegbemi’s lifeless body and strike two stones together to get fire. Thus, Odegbemi is being roasted to death as suggested by the great Bashorun some minutes earlier! He was burnt to ashes and his ashes were immersed into a nearby river beside the forest. One of the servants collected the empty skull from the Bashorun; he’s to keep it in the place where empty skulls are being kept. This is indeed total madness by the Bashorun! Is he a demon or a human being? 

 The Bashorun jumped on his horse and he finally got the leaves he wanted to collect from the bush. He gave the leaves to one of the servant to take it home and ordered another one to grind it on getting home and the last one to collect it inside a neat calabash. It was indeed a sad moment in the kingdom!!!! The Bashorun is changing from a human being to an animal!!!!!!! Things are changing

 Bashorun Adewale, resting in his chamber, is seen slumbering into a deep sleep, when one of his numerous wives jumped in. “ Baba, Alake has been delivered of a baby boy. Please come to the outer chamber to see the boy. I thank my god for her. I pray this one stays unlike her first child”. “okay, I am coming right now. Tell the midwife that I am very grateful for her kind gesture”. Bashorun said as he staggered. After this, the new baby was well packed and the wives get ready a new bed for the new mother. They starts the preparation for the naming ceremony of the child. They were all deliberating on he kind of clothes they are to wear for the ceremony. The Bashorun called out all his household and gave them a strict warning, “Don’t try to organize an elaborating party, as you all know, the kingdom is against me and I don’t think that any of them would be in attendance except we in the household alone. I bet if Adekunle would be here! So don’t cook much, cook what will do the household only and party little! That’s what called you all for”. 

 The women looked at themselves and they all stopped their other preparations for the elaborate one they wanted before. All of them were afraid to say anything in front of the Bashorun. The next day, is the D-day, Adewale himself presents himself as the father of the child and the same time as the he did the master of the ceremony and also the priest who prayed for the child. The women cooked, all the children, servants, maids and guards all ate to the fullest. They were really happy that day as there was enough to eat. It was really a day to be remembered in the Adewale’s household. The new baby was named Adekola. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The culprit or r****t as we may call him, Adelabu, who r***d Amope, who wasn’t known due to the fact that Amope couldn’t recognize who her r****t was. Adelabu carries the duty with him where he goes, but conscience couldn’t let him be. He felt very sorry for her. He decided to marry Amope since he knew that she is already carrying his child. He went to Amope’s house and talked with her, that he wants her to be his wife. Amope was surprised, she thought maybe he was trying to mock her, since the whole kingdom knew she was r***d and she is carrying a child whose father is not known. She’s already a month pregnant. 

 Adelabu tried all his best to make Amope sees reason that he loves her and that he will marry her. He also agreed to take of her and her unborn child. Adelabu’s parent were annoyed for the step taken by their son. Later, he confined in them and told them what happened. They later agreed Amope to be their daughter in law. They also implored Adelabu to tell her about what happened, but he swore not to tell her. They later fixed their marriage and they had the best of wedding ceremonies!

 The Bashorun watched the wedding ceremony through his magic box, he was really annoyed that his plan was ruined. He decides his next step. Yes! He got a new plan! Adelabu just got a new hectare of land around the river side, he’s got more money to his pocket. He’s got a lot of workers working for him. Yes! He, Bashorun, will threaten him, and collect one of his fertile land. What a terrific man Adewale is! 

 On the day he planned to get the land from Adelabu, he got there as early as possible and ordered his men to starts with the cultivation. They have already start with the land preparation, as they were doing this, they sighted the Adelabu, coming with his labourers of about eight men. He was surprised to find a group of men with the same kind of clothes toiling on his land. He was shocked, he moved near them and inquire from them what they were doing on his farm, “What happened? What are you doing on my land? “. “Shut up, you this Mumu(i***t), you this dirty stinking man! Is this your father’s land? You better get yourself a mirror and look at how you look like! i***t! Insane mad man!”. Sapengo fires at him. 

“ My men, occupy them” Adelabu shouted. As they were about to start the fight, the Bashorun jumped down from his horse and ordered them to stop the fight. He held Adelabu with his hands tightly gripped on his clothes, he looked straight into his eyes, “ Adelabu, the one who r***d Amope, the daughter of the firewood seller. After then, due to conscience pricking you went ahead to marry so as not to continue feeling guilty. Indeed! You’re now bragging at me! Who’s your father in this kingdom? Is it because you have been crowned as the king of farmers in this land? You are indeed foolish, boys! Round him up and tie him to the tree! Let’s waste him!”. 

“ Please, your highness I’m very sorry for my ignorance, I didn’t know it was your people that are working on the land. I’m deeply sorry. This land that we are now, is no more mine, it’s now yours as of this moment. Please spare my life”. Adelabu prostrated with his face on the ground. “ Now you are just talking sense. I have forgiven you, now that this land belongs to me, I don’t want to see you here anymore. You are freee to go, you and your labourers!”. The Bashorun didn’t finish his statement when Adelabu and his workers took to their heels, forgetting their cutlass and sandals. Bashorun Adewale looked at them as they ran like a mad man. He laughed at them and shake his head, “ You’re yet to see anything in this kingdom, I’m the lion king! Get ready to face more of my wraths!”. He said it boastfully. “logun o fe o”. His guards hailed him.

They continued with their work on the farm and the great Bashorun Adewale noticed a fat woman passed by where they were working. He signaled to Sapengo to call for him the woman. Sapengo, getting his boss point, swings to action, he went for the woman and brings her to where Bashorun stayed rooted to. Five guards formed a circle in the middle and the Bashorun takes off his clothes, he ordered the woman to lie down with her clothes already been toren by the Bashorun himself. The woman begged him, but he didn’t listen to her pleas. The Bashorun succeds in getting the woman under his feet. He slept with the woman!

Immediately Adelabu got home, he called his wife and begged her not to get annoyed at him for whatever he wants to tell her right now. He told her everything that happened. Amope looked at him and smiled. She told him she was happy that it still the same person that r***d her, that still marry her. She told him she is not annoyed at all. She even swore by Ogun, Adelabu was really happy for what his wife said. After eight months, Amope gave birth to a set of twins. They looked alike and resemble their father a lot! It was indeed a chemistry solution!
